Reviews for Sina Hotel Villa Medici
The hotel is located in a quiet part of the city centre (it's a seven minute walk to the central railway station) and is actually only a 15 minute walk to most of the city centre attractions. The hotel itself is grand and has a splendid pool area where your every need is attended to by pool attendants and waiting staff. A courtesy car is available from 9am to 12pm and 6pm to 9pm daily and we found this very useful. The rooms (ours was a superior) are beautifully decorated and roomy enough with a spacious bathroom and the beds were kingsize and very comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful at all times. We can recommend the vegetarian restaurant Nirvana just across the road.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at this stylish hotel. Most of Florence's attractions are only a short walk away. As are some exceptional restaurants. Our suite was well equipped, spacious with a very large bed. As a consequence sleep quality was excellent. Communal rooms are light and airy and have a sophisticated look. The pool area in the garden is tranquil and calming. The terrace a lovely place to dine or drink cocktails Staff are consummately efficient, friendly and charming. My only negative comment would be the price of their breakfasts. It is a lovely hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the crowd centre of Florence and having a pool area is great to relax after mingling with the crowds doing the sights. The hotel is nicely decorated and our room was a nice size I would however try and get a room with a balcony which overlooks the pool. Unfortunately after our friendly greeted arrival I found the service not up to the standard you would expect a 4/5 star hotel the bar staff were extremely slow and you had to keep asking for someone to take the drinks order The breakfast offerings were very average again not what you would expect from this type of hotel and they are regimented with their timings we arrived 5 minutes after closing due to a wedding we attended the night before like half of the hotel guests and was refused service even though the buffet was still in tact We liked where the hotel is situated its a 10 minute walk from the centre and after enduring the crowds there is a terrific walk along the river back to the hotel where you can experience some wonderful buildings(take a peak inside the St Regis Hotel it is breath taking) and gives you a great feeling of being in this wonderful City

Honestly, we wouldn’t have chosen to stay here but the artists’ group my wife was studying with booked the rooms for their two nights in Florence. The rather formally dressed staff were surprisingly friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was fine, although there was some kind of event in the courtyard the first afternoon that involved loud American music. We had breakfast there because it was easy and we were in a bit of a hurry to take advantage of our time in the city. 37 euros for even a good buffet breakfast seems like rather a lot. The hotel is not in an spec rally interesting part of town but is within walking distance, healthy walking distance, of most of the sights you come to Florence to see.

I booked this hotel through Amex as it was a recommended hotel so I was expecting a lot more. Room was nice however I was charged extra for my 2nd teen and was not explained that they could eat breakfast as it was part of the extra fee. We thought only 2 were included. We did not have room for a rollaway bed so the 3 of us made due with what we had. Majority of staff was helpful and pleasant however night concierge was condescending and rude to us. While our stay was nice I would not say it met our expectations of a fine hotel designation.
