Absolutely loved the resort for many reasons. The staff is lovely, friendly and accomodating; the location of the resort is unique as it's placed in the best bay of the island, with trade winds ideal for sailing & kitesurfing. The nearby Green island is one of those untouched natural beauties hard to find nowadays with the increasing boat tourism. The resort's small beach was cleaned from sea-weed on a regular basis and ideal for morning swims as slightly tucked away from the wind/waves. However, for the sake of future guests, I must list a number of negative aspects that I hope the resort's management will take into consideration and works towards eradicating. First and foremost, the incessant AC noise kept my husband and I (together with many other guests I spoke to) awake at night and drove us a little crazy on our balcony during the day when we were trying to peacefully read. Some AC units seemed louder than others, quite sad actually as they prevented us tuning into the sound of the sea or the birds! I suggest they need upgrading as they literally sound like an airplane taking off. Its a shame people over-used them as it was beautifully windy with no mosquitos! Secondly, we stayed in a suite too close to the restaurant, which had regular bands playing and very loud music every other night. Some evenings it was pleasant, but after a while it got on our nerves as we would be trying to fall asleep but even earplugs wouldn't help!! I wonder if it would be possible for them to decrease the volume and to ensure all music is off by 9.30 max. One of the pools had no shower to wash off the chlorine as well as a very tall hedge that meant no wind would come through!! Unbearable to be there, maybe adding a few more umbrellas would be convenient given how popular the pools were for kids and their families? Last but not least, the bathroom in our suite was tired and the wooden flooring was scratched and started to lift in places. The balcony rails were also in need of attention before they became too dangerous for children. The dishwasher was broken and the fridge's water dispenser also didn't work. Forgot to mention the drinks at the bar weren't too tasty, no fresh fruit drinks other than pineapple, mostly low quality with lots of syrups. The dinner's portions were quite small and rather unimaginative, despite beautifully presented. Perhaps I would ask to put a little more effort in quality & quantity versus presentation? Service was attentive and setting spectacular though! Overall the resort resembled a mini paradise and I would definitely recommend it to families with small children especially because of the presence of a great Kids Club too! Looking forward to our next stay!

We stayed at Nonsuch Bay in October 2017 and couldn’t fault it. From our first welcome drink to use of a shower room after we checked out but were waiting for our evening flight, everything was great. The staff were all very friendly, the waiting staff took the time to learn the kids’ names and looked after them very well. We always had a laugh with Natasha and the other kids club staff, and the sailing staff were great too. Room (2 bedrooms) was great and we always found the food to be very good. Location is good and use of the boats, canoes and trips to Green island really made the holiday. Excellent bar staff also helped!. A great trip and we hope to return soon.

We enjoyed a two week stay at Nonsuch in a 2 bed apartment. It was very clean and well appointed (with some issues which I will address later). The layout was great; as 4 adults we had plenty of room . The bath/shower rooms were big, the water hot and fluffy towels. A large bed with such a comfortable mattress for a good night's sleep is always appreciated. The lounge was a bonus. It was always spotlessly clean. There was some terrific rain during the night on some nights, and also very early morning but when it cleared we had beautiful sunny days apart from one overcast day. The beach, despite being a little small, was lovely and perfectly adequate and to sit under the palm trees a joy. I can understand why the sea grass might freak some people out but it is what it is. Marcus is a real star - he is so funny and had us in stitches trying to deliver the drinks orders. He had a wonderful dry wit and is so funny. Our sailing lessons didn't go well. Obviously we were not destined for a life on the ocean wave but it was good fun and David, Denise, Devon and Shakimba are to be commended for their tolerance, patience and humour. Green Island is a must. The sand beautiful. We did see turtles and a ray and a racer snake asleep on a rock by my lifejacket. The resort has a boutique feel and quite intimate. Natasha is a star. Some of the younger restaurant staff appeared indifferent and somewhat moody. Credit to David and Everton at the bar. We enjoyed some wonderful cocktails! Now, the food. I do not usually eat breakfast apart from toast so cannot personally comment on anything else but the OH especially commended the egg station chef and he enjoyed the cooked food. The other choices seemed a little basic but adequate. Buffet lunch again limited but always something to be found. Our favourite meals were the Thursday B-B-Qs - fantastic! The a la carte evening meals add an extra element to the dining experience and we never had a problem with booking times and tables and if we did not like our allocated seat choice, asked to be moved and this did not seem to ever be a problem. Some a la carte meals were a bit odd taste-wise but all in all, the meals were perfectly adequate and a varied choice with menu changes. It is a hilly resort and wobbling up a path at night could present a challenge after a few drinks! Due to the cacophony of tree frogs from dawn till dusk, ear plugs may be a must. We used Vernon's car hire and could not fault the service or vehicle (4 x 4) and would suggest this type of vehicle as some of the roads are quite dreadful. As the resort is so isolated, a car is recommended if you want to get out and about to see gorgeous sights and incredible beaches. Antigua is a lovely lush island and worth exploring. The negatives in no particular order, albeit some are small niggles: - A basic beach bar for sodas, water, beer - it isn't a long trek to get a drink yourself but the beach service could be sporadic - Kitchen - dryer didn't work nor the water dispenser in the fridge; top-up teabags hit and miss - Some bed linens bobbly and worn - Pillows horrible and lumpy despite asking for them to be changed - Some of the younger restaurant staff seem to have issues that make them come across badly - Dim path lighting a challenge Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and despite my being a little pedantic, I would go back. The one thing that truly spoilt some nights: the 'enthusiastic' guests above us who sounded like elephants on a pogo stick at 3/4am on multiple mornings waking us up. Your intimacies could be heard outside and in our apartment especially the Harry Met Sally renditions. We did clap outside - did you hear us? Perhaps you were leaping off the furniture or swinging from the ceiling fans? It wasn't funny at 3am!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite in early November. The staff are lovely - so friendly and enthusiastic and made a big effort to remember our names. The lady at the Concierge desk had a great can-do attitude when the phones went down and we needed to contact someone outside. My son did not use the Kids Club but the lady in charge made a huge effort to encourage him and they clearly did a lot of fun activities. The accommodation was very good - well maintained and immaculately clean - and we had wonderful views from our verandah. Food for an all-inclusive was good and I particularly liked the use of an a-la-carte menu for dinner. The Kids Club provides an opportunity for parents to have child-free dinners by organising early meals for young guests followed by movies on the beach which looked fun. Two slight issues which led to 4 stars rather than 5. Firstly the need to book for dinner was a bit troublesome as we always found only the later slots remaining (even if we booked at breakfast time) which was difficult with a child and I feel they should have prebooked earlier dinner slots for families with children. Secondly it would have been nice to have a fitness room of some kind, particularly as the running terrain round the resort was pretty hilly. We are now in the process of booking our next trip and we will definitely be going back there.

Writing this review having just come back from a lovely lunch at the Catherine’s Cafe which just brought it home how bad our “all inclusive” package at the Nonsuch Bay Resort is. Our one bedroom suite was tired and in desperate need of maintenance. Whilst some of the staff are friendly and helpful, overall they expect the guests to follow their orders, eg we were told not to expect sea facing table as the hotel have more 4 people families to cater for. As our family happen to consist of 3 people out chances of getting a nice table were not good. Drinks and food are really bad, eg g&t without gin, selection of fruit and veg is unbelievably poor for such a lush island, fish doubly cremated to make sure it does not run away from a sad buffet. Anyway, we’ve learnt our sad “all inclusive” lessons and have scars to show
