Reviews for Nonsuch Bay
As you may have already read Non Such Resort is quite a distance from any distractions which suited us perfectly for our annual 'time out'. We are happy to sit and read, swim and stroll however it would have been an advantage to find a local restaurant - not possible during October as Harmany Hall, the closest alternative, was closed for refurb. As we self cater the on shop site is useful however the prices are high so ensure you do not forget to stock up well. We love the peace, the safe environment and the friendly helpful staff. We also eagerly look forward to the promised development around the new marina which promises to enhance the property.

This is one of the most relaxing holidays that we have had,the apartment rooms were amazing with a big bed and a high standard of finish. The staff are friendly and obviously enjoy working together as you can hear them laughing and joking with each other which creates a positive atmosphere. The beach was kept clean from debris and you can’t help the seaweed it’s all over the Caribbean. I thought it might be an issue not having water in the room but there is a water filter built in the fridge so you just fill a bottle. It cuts down on the amount of rubbish around. The only two things I would change is to have a proper Spa as this to me is a treat if your other half is sailing or kitesurfing. You don’t get the atmosphere in a room. Also I think the bar area could do with modernising with more seats and a beach bar also. We will hopefully be back as it was a lovely holiday and the staff were great.

We visited Nonsuch Bay for a week and had the most wonderful time there. The resort is set off the beaten track in a private bay/cove and is a beautifully maintained spot for relaxing and soaking up the sunshine. As busy young professionals, a resort holiday was a first for us and we opted for all-inclusive and it was everything we could want in a pure relaxation holiday. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style, theres an option for afternoon tea as well although we never needed it, and dinner is a la carte. The food was of a really good standard and the staff were friendly and very professional, nothing was too much bother. The clubhouse bar looks out across the bay and you can spend hours enjoying the views, the breeze and endless rum punch! We had a Deluxe Suite which was frankly larger than our London flat, we also drank the tap water because our filter on our fridge didn't work and had no problems with it. It can get quite noisy at night with the local chirruping bugs and frogs so I'd advise ear plugs if you're on the bottom floor like we were, but the bed was super comfortable and the property was very well maintained. We had one or two issues with bugs in the suite but nothing that a little Raid couldn't fix, and to be expected with the tropical climate and the proximity to so much local wildlife. Housekeeping are very quick to come and support you if you have any issues in your room. Definitely take full advantage of the sailing school, Denise was a saint and helped me learn to sail from scratch. The trips to Green Island are complimentary every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and well worth the speed boat ride. You are dropped off to snorkel and beach bum for a couple of hours and we saw all sorts of fish, sting rays, and even a turtle on our visit. We didn't leave the resort as we only stayed a week and wanted to enjoy the watersports but if you wanted to you could rent a car and visit the other parts of the island. The staff are knowledgable and can recommend outings and help organise all your needs. The staff are outstanding at this resort, they're frienly and wonderful people with a sense of care to everything they do. We celebrated my partner's birthday at the resort and were treated to champagne and a lovely steel drum rendition of Happy Birthday, much to my partner's embarrassment! The infinity pools on site are really lovely, we spent more time beside them than on the beach itself and we took a tip from one of the staff on the best time to get sunshine, we'd be out early in the morning after breakfast to enjoy a good swim and some sailing, take a long lunch and sail a little more after lunch then retire to pool in the afternoon for a lovely warm swim before dinner. If you want a relaxing break in a beautiful setting with bags of Antiguan charm and chill, then look no further. Go to Nonsuch Bay.

We stayed for 10 days in August - leaving four days before the hurricane. We had an absolutely amazing holiday - all th staff are excellent - nothing was too much trouble. We went with our daughter and two young grandchildren - our two rooms were a few minutes walk to reception and the beach, which we took as an opportunity to look for lizards and other wildlife! We also managed to lock our key inside one room, and the other room's bathroom door couldn't open one day - the staff were soon able to solve the problems for us. Having stayed at The Verandah Resort last year, we were unsure if Nonsuch would be as good. I can say without hesitation that it most certainly was. The beach is not as nice as The Verandah's - yes it has a problem with sea grass (which is a daily chore for the staff to deal with), but the rooms are phenomenal, the resort far friendlier and the charm of Nonsuch is that it is small and everyone went out of their way to make our holiday such an wonderful experience. Our trips to Green Island were great - we were even taken a little further one afternoon, so there were just six adults on a beautiful, white sand beach for two hours of bliss. Our daughter became very partial to both a non-alcoholic and an alcoholic fruited juice - together with several other guests. On our leaving day (we paid to keep one of our rooms until we left) - Natasha had left a little present for our daughter Fiona - a bottle of English Harbour Rum. This was so kind of her and typical of how we were treated during our stay. Yes the resort isn't perfect - the swimming pools are one depth so for young children it's not ideal, the shop is really quite expensive, and as for the walk from the pools to the bar - this really didn't bother us as we would do a drinks run, which just added to the fun for us! I wouldn't hesitate in coming back to this lovely resort - thank you everyone for making it such a great holiday.

Booked a 10day holiday in Antigua with my Mum, our original hotel was Hawksbill resort which was great, unfortunately we were there for less than a day due to being evacuated due to the risk of hurricane Irma. We were moved to a much lower standard sister hotel, the Halcyon, we we later discovered is the worst hotel in the island. After sleeping on sun loungers in a room with about 50 other people the night of the hurricane the resort was a little impacted by the winds. The staff took this opportunity to do as little as possible. My mum spent a night in A+E after getting fish poisoning. Needless to say we were not happy and the UK BA team transferred us to the Nonsuch Bay Resort... This is where the real review starts, from the moment we arrived we knew we were going to get the service we had expect d from the start of our holiday. The employees were attentive, smiling and would go out of their way to help. We were offered drinks on checkin and cooling mint facecloths. After being driven to our villa we were extremely pleased with the size of the property, which included a living room, full kitchen and utility room. The terrace overlooked one of the resort pools which looked out over the palm trees which line the beach. The beach was a minute or two through well kept garden areas thriving with wide life such as hummingbirds, dragon flys and mongooses. Although the bar was small the service was great, the restaurant was of an excellent standard including a wide selection and variety at breakfast and lunch; afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes. This is the first all inclusive resort I have encountered with an al a carte option menu for dinner. The head chef is one of the top Caribbean chefs and has a Michelin star; the food is fabulous. The beach is quiet and clean with plenty of loungers; the sea is quite weedy but the resort offers inclusive trips to green island which is great for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. I was keen to paddleboard during my trip which was an additional cost but not unreasonable. Paddleboarding was peaceful and beautiful, I may not have seen turtles but I saw the mangroves, giant starfish and flying fish! Nonsuch is set within a quiet area of the island surrounded by private villas; a perfect hideaway. After the negative start to our holiday Nonsuch gave us the luxury we expected. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond; we came back to our villa one evening to champagne and a fruit platter, the restaurant manager, head chef, bar staff and reception staff always greeted us with a smile and were happy to help. The ground and pool staff were also very friendly whilst they kept the palms, grass and bushes maintained after the hurricanes. Thank you all for looking after us and turning out holiday around; we will definitely return! Ellie and Sarah - Cardiff, Wales, UK
