Reviews for Nonsuch Bay
We enjoyed a 10 day stay at The NonSuch Resort. It takes about forty minutes to drive from the airport to the resort. To be honest it would be very difficult to find fault with any aspect of our stay. So that really should say it all. It’s definitely on our list of places to return too.

We stayed here for 11 nights in November 2017. The resort has a very relaxed feel and is found in an isolated but beautiful position on the eastern (Atlantic) side of the island. There are no shops, bars, restaurants or other amenities within walking distance of the resort. We hired a car from the airport for the duration which is pretty much essential unless you want to spend your whole holiday on the same beach every day. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was huge with a full size kitchen and large sitting/dining area on top of the bedroom suite. Disappointingly we were on the ground floor and had no seaview when sitting on the terrace. If we stood up and peered over the bushes and between the accommodation blocks in front we could just about see some sea but it wasn't the view we were led to expect from other reviews or the website. Yes, we could have asked to be moved but by the time we realised the view wasn't as expected we'd already unpacked and couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Make sure you've got the view you expect before unpacking! The bedroom was large with a huge walk-in closet and plenty of storage space besides. The bed was large and comfortable and the aircon worked well. Some of the windows had no glass but were covered in mosquito netting and wooden blinds which allows the air to flow but also lets in the noise from the ubiquitous whistling frogs which is noisier than it sounds and lasts from dusk til dawn so pack some earplugs. There was a good sized safe and tea & coffee making facilities in the kitchen area. The TV in the sitting room had a decent selection of channels but there was no TV in the bedroom. The bathroom had everything you could possibly wish for (including a jacuzzi bath and hairdryer) but felt a little tired and dated. Outside the grounds were delightful filled with all sorts of flora & fauna including humming birds flitting from bush to bush. There were 3 swimming pools which rarely seemed to have many people in them and getting beds around the pool was never a problem (and they were comfy beds too). The beach area was perfectly adequate and well kept by the hard-working staff with soft sand and plenty of paddling space before the underwater weed started at which point it was easy to swim over the top. We snorkelled all over the island and some of the best we found was right here around the couple of rocky "piers" leading out from the beach. There are also numerous watersports available at the beach some of which are complimentary while others are payable. We found the food generally very good. There was a decent selection and it was very tasty (ok, there was the odd exception but you can't have everything). You do need to book times for lunch & dinner but that is swiftly dealt with when you arrive at breakfast. the included wine was just about palatable (we found the Rose to be the best) and the local beer is fine. The restaurant also has a glorious setting with views across the bay. The bar area is next to the restaurant and has the same great views. Although it's only a small area we never had to wait long for a drink and rarely had an issue finding somewhere to sit. Unfortunately the cocktails weren't great as the "fruit juice" tasted more like some rather sickly pre-packaged syrup. Most staff were great being always friendly and willing to help answer any queries e.g. reception were more than willing to help us ring and book tee times at the island golf courses (don't bother playing at Jolly Harbour if you're a golfer, stick to Cedar Valley). However a couple of the staff we found a bit surly and in particular the cleaner one day tutted and raised her eyebrows at us when we said we wouldn't be leaving the room for another half an hour. Charming! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in what is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful location with a good standard of accommodation and great staff. Would we come back here? At the time we thought maybe it's a bit isolated to return to again but on reflection we had such a lovely time on the island i would say almost certainly!

Spent 3 nights here as part of an island hopping honeymoon, and I have to say I was sad to be leaving. On arrival, the staff were incredibly friendly and obliging (nothing was too much to ask for). Aubrey was ready for our evening arrival and had made sure we were booked in to the restaurant for dinner. A nice touch to remove any stress after a long day travelling. Knowing it was our honeymoon, we were gifted an upgraded room, champagne and complimentary sunset cruise (more on that later). The suite was fantastic, huge comfortable and with all the usual amenities. Everything was clean and each suite has it's own Wi-Fi which was stable throughout the stay. There is a single restaurant and bar which does require pre booking for lunch and dinner. Not really an issue, as the staff are quick to book you during breakfast each day. The food was delicious and nicely varied at each meal to cater for all tastes. The restaurant does have a dress code which is clearly stated both in the room blurb and on arrival. The staff aren't so hot on this as to make it imposing but as long as your not in dripping wet swimwear you'll generally be fine. The bar has a great selection of cocktails and a waiter usually does the rounds on the beachfront so you don't have to leave your lounger. With 3 pools and a private beach there was no problems finding a little space of our own. My only gripe would be that the most picturesque pool is slap bang in the middle of the restaurant. It's a little odd going through to use it and times for that pool are a little more restricted. The caveat to having such a space to yourself is that the resort is somewhat secluded. This makes doing excursions harder but the concierge is great at arranging any excursions you want and there is a selection of leaflets for your reference. The resort does provide trips to green island offering an opportunity to snorkel and sunbathe. They time the trip perfectly to make sure there's no one else on the beach. In short giving you a beach to yourself. The sunset cruise was the highlight though, and if you have a chance to do this I'd definitely say take it. The views around Antigua as the sunsets are breathtaking. Throughout the stay all of the staff were friendly and caring, they knew our names within the first day and greeted us as such making sure we had everything we needed. All in all, I'd recommend Nonsuch bay in a heartbeat. Especially if you're into sailing, watersports or just relaxing in your own slice of paradise.

We have been coming to Nonsuch Bay Resort for the last 3 years. This is definitely a review that is way overdue! Nonsuch is one of our favorite spots on the island for vacationing & kitesurfing (40Knots). Choosing Nonsuch for our wedding was a natural choice since my fiancé (now husband) also proposed here! Just like the name, Nonsuch is like none other, a little piece of paradise on earth in many ways. The staff is warm and friendly and the villas are like home away from home. Each villa is equipped with full kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room (washer/dryer) and outdoor patio with gorgeous view. During our wedding planning, the resort & reservation team (Joyette/Anya) was very accommodating and provided very competitive rates for our guests. They worked tirelessly with our guests (~ 45) to get all the rooms reserved in a timely manner. Joyette from the reservation team was such an angel. She was on my speed dial for the 9 months that I was planning the wedding! She was not only delightful to work with but always patient with all my questions & requests. She also took extra steps to accommodate of all our needs. We have about 45 guests and everyone told us that they had a fabulous time. Our Wedding ceremony at the beach was like a dream. Joyette/team and our wedding planner Tracy from Indigo Event Services worked extremely well together and executed the whole event like clockwork. It was truly amazing. For our Wedding Reception on the Villa Nonsuch up on the hill, Chef Michel and the restaurant manager Avella insisted to oversee our dinner from start to finish. The rest of the staffs were also very attentive and super fun to hang out with. They even dance with us in the end!! Spa services can be easily arranged and the therapists provide the service at the comfort of your own villa. We LOVE Ashley for our massages! She is truly one of the best therapists whom we had come across from all the resorts/spas we had visited over the years. The front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful. They are always available! My husband and I are both kitesurfers so it is awesome that Nonsuch is the home to the best kite school 40Knots (40knots.net/). With pristine flat water and constant wind, it is truly one of the best kite spots in the world, whether you are beginners or advanced kiters learning new tricks. Susie/Chris/Irene/Max who run the school are great people/instructors and always make sure we have a good time. Jamal, my kite instructor is the best! He is not only super nice and genuine but he is really good at what he does. Nonsuch will always be a special place for us and for our families & friends. Everyone is already talking about a reunion trip! A huge thank you to everyone at Nonsuch for making our wedding so special!

This resort offers wonderful well equipped accommodation, ours had a large kitchen lounge diner, a utility room with washing machine, a good size bedroom and a huge bathroom. It was surrounded on two sides with a fantastic furnished balcony and was set in a very pleasant and peaceful position on a hillside with a view of the bay and small beach. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Breakfast and lunch were both buffet style and dinner was waiter service. The quality and variety of food at every meal was extremely good, including many Caribbean favourites. The wine, spirits, cocktails and prosecco offered on the all inclusive package was also very enjoyable. Each morning, at breakfast, the staff request the time slot that you require for lunch and for dinner, which seems to work quite well. One of the greatest assets at this property are the staff. They are all very polite and friendly and do whatever they can to ensure that guests are comfortable and happy. I must also mention the guys that operate the sailing school. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional and have unlimited patience! A number of guests holidaying here have either no sailing experience, or a very limited experience of sailing. To have the opportunity to sail for free, with the benefit of a professional instructor is priceless. We witnessed many guests returning from their first lesson and it was so obvious that they had enjoyed the experience, the massive smile on their faces needed no explanation. In addition to the sailing, the resort also runs a complimentary boat, three days a week, to Green Island for approximately two hours, where you can either snorkel, swim or relax on one of the beaches there. We did the trip twice and were lucky to see lots of different fish, a turtle, an octopus and two conch. Would we return? Without a doubt.
