This place is simply amazing! The staff was great. The grounds are beautiful!! The room itself didn’t feel like a hotel, it felt more like home, which was refreshing on a 10 day trip around Ireland.

returning to the lodges @ Glenlo Abbey excellent previous stay but this time the cleanliness let us down very disappointing after travelling for 18 hours to retrieve some quality time with family. Again location is great.

I had afternoon tea with 3 family members in the restaurant overlooking the golf course. Which was beautiful. Initially service was fine, server presented the aromatic teas, however once afternoon tea tiers where delivered to the table service was very poor. I waited almost 30mins for a cappuccino, brandy was served in a half pint glass! No butter, jam or cream came with the scones and one of our party had to leave the room and go to reception to ask for it. For a venue of its status it was a very disappointing experience and for the cost of the afternoon tea it was frankly just not good enough.

We had the pleasure of getting married at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate on 03 May. We had both our ceremony and reception on the grounds and we both agree that it couldn’t have gone any better. Kathryn and Donal in Particular were excellent to deal with and went over and beyond every step of the way. We would recommend this hotel just for the staff alone, but with the combination of staff, scenery and exquisite service we would strongly encourage people to choose Glenlo Abbey as their wedding venue.

Opulent in every way, this amazing hotel is worth the very pricey penny you pay. Furnished with lavish and brightly cheery furnishings, the staff is ready for any need and the rooms look out onto gardens, golf greens and fields dotted with flowers and trees. One option for dining are two dining cars from the Orient Express, one which carried Winston Churchill in state back to his home in London. Dinner met the ambiance. Choices like quail and duck, fish and beef. The staff most attentive. If you can afford it, there is no other choice. I wished I were a golfer- exquisite course.
