From the welcome throughout the stay the hotel service was excellent. My wife feared the she had lost a small ring but felt it was too small to be found and was not sure she had lost it at the hotel. When we returned home, wee had a voice mail from the hotel to the effect that the ring had been found. After email exchanges, the hotel sent to ring on to her in the US.

We stayed for 2 nights in August. The location is beautiful with stunning grounds/pools and the spa was superb (the spa staff were very friendly). Check-in was a lovely experience, staff very friendly and we got shown around the grounds in a golf buggy. However, it falls short of 5 stars for a few reasons (especially considering how much it costs per night) - wifi is genuinely terrible; would be better off telling guests there isn't any wifi in the rooms as it doesn't work - the Bistro restaurant was lovely but we were very surprised to be told that we could not eat at the Italian restaurant when we arrived at 9:10pm (it closed at 9pm) - no drinks service in the pool area; having stayed at many other 5 star hotels this is expected and we were quite surprised not to have this at Coquillade - in the morning we had to wonder around and try to find a staff member to get pool towels from so we could use the pool as none were available and no staff around - there is supposedly an 'adults only' pool separate from the 'family' pool, however this is not enforced and there were lots of children running around. Management would be better off not distinguishing between the 2 as then adult guests won't be disappointed by the noise. - doesn't have the Relais Chateau 'experience' that we would expect based on other RC hotels we have stayed at; it feels a bit 'do it yourself' rather than exceptional service we would expect. All in all it is a beautiful hotel, just a shame the above points haven't been rectified by management (all of which are very easy to fix) as then it would be a truly superb hotel.

All in all this is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Check in was easy and our room was lovely with a private terrace overlooking the vineyard. We really enjoyed our stay here but the reason I haven't given this 5 (more 3-4 in my view) is the following: - the swimming pools are beautiful and set in tranquil grounds, however one pool was meant to be a 'quiet' pool. It seemed more like a French kids club. Raised this with pool staff and reception and nothing was done. When travelling without children and you are given the expectation of peace and quiet, it's even more frustrating when you don't get it. The areas should be marked more clearly and staff should be enforcing this. - same with the spa; lovely facilities but so noisy and lots of loud French visitors (especially on the weekend) it really ruined what should have been a relaxing experience. Again, no staff around to remind guests of this - Italian restaurant was average in terms of food quality (and overpriced for what you got) but service was poor -bistro has better food and a wonderful view, but zero vegetarian options (I ended up with some cous cous and bit of veg

Unfortunately a wonderful Cycling Experience got to Two Flat Tires. Two private guide excursions were cancelled without notification. The less than charming Manager / Sales person did her best to alienate me claiming that they had contacted Me. Twice not Once !! Two Flat Tires !! Madame should work in the back of the shop and be kept away from direct client contact...
