Wow this resort is so cool! I came from the United States for a business meeting so I am not the typical traveler here but it was such a unique experience. Being on top of the mountain there is no AC but it is not needed since it stays cool here. No need to leave as it’s like a city here with so many activities and dining options. I only stayed 2 nights and just saw a small portion of the resort. The casino is huge and I am used to visiting Las Vegas casinos. The rooms are a little outdated but with so much to do on property you really just use them to sleep. It is also pretty amazing to get to see First World Hotel in person since it is currently the largest hotel in the world!

The entire experience at First World Hotel, Genting Highlands was extremely disappointing. From check-in to the room itself, everything fell far below expectations. Having the highest number of rooms in the world does not make a hotel the best. Unfortunately, First World Hotel felt more like a budget transit hotel than an internationally recognized destination. The room was tiny, the bathroom was almost capsule-sized, and basic toiletries were not even provided. Even the available amenities and room fittings looked dated, worn out, and far from contemporary standards. The ambience lacked warmth, the facilities felt neglected, and there was absolutely no sense of comfort or value for the money spent. Overall, it was a complete waste of time, effort, and money. I would not recommend First World Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, modern, or memorable stay in Genting Highlands.

Worst experience from booking to checking in to checking out. We stayed in June 2026. The booking website is difficult to navigate, kept logging me out, and did not allow me to book multiple nights for some reason. So I had to make 2 separate bookings for 2 nights for a Deluxe Room. It took me more than 1 hour just to make a simple booking. When I mentioned this to the check in staff, they agreed with me, but had to say it discreetly as their superiors may overhear. At the check in counter, there were so many staff at the counter, but they were not attending to guests. They were just chatting amongst themselves. Only David and Kai Qi were seen attending to the guests intensely. I believe the team leader was Iqmal, as I noticed his sign off was requested by staff. He was just sitting at the desk belching to garner responses from his colleagues. I told them to check me in for 2 nights (on 2 different bookings) because of their system limitations, and they said I will just need to get the key refreshed for the next day. When the next day came around and I needed a new key, Iqmal said I had to pay RM53 to remain in the room. This was because they gave me a "corner" room as they were fully booked. I did not request for this "corner" room. It was easier for me to pay the RM53 as I have 2 kids under 3 (I have already paid more than RM1,000 for 2 nights stay at this awful place and for awful service). I guess RM 50 is too much for Genting to absorb for customer satiafaction. This hotel is in need of an upgrade. There were cockroaches and food scraps under the bed, the bed linen are stained and had holes in them, the bathroom wooden door has rot, and the carpet has stains and is frayed. The Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park and Skyworlds Outdoor Theme Park.... save your money and go experience other theme parks. A lot of rides were closed for maintenance. Everything else is a money grab. The indoor eateries are decent as they are not operated by RWGenting group. Our friends stayed at Antara and would recommmend it.

If you have any children (under 18) then prepare for a 2-3 hour wait to check in. By far the single worst check in systrn I've ever seen, and I lived for a while in Honiara. The self service kiosks are where you are forced to, but all kiosks are programned to reject passports for people under 18. So you have to wait 2.5 hours in our case in a queue with their ticketing system. In a nutshell, prepare to completely write off the day in which you arrive, because you'll be spending hours sitting in the lobby. Would give zero stars but trip has a minimum of one. Would never go there ever again.

I booked 2 rooms for my family and paid a total of SGD1,282 for 3 nights ($213 per room per night) from 15 Jun to 18 Jun. It was the most horrible stay in a hotel due to the following 3 reasons: 1. Check In - On the day of check-in, they allocated me 2 inter-connecting rooms at Level 9. One of the rooms was ready and we were able to check in at 2.30pm (paid extra RM5 for it). The other room was not ready due to housekeeping. However, about 45 mins later when we were about to leave the room, we were told by a staff that the guests from other room did not check out at 3pm. Hence, they need us to move to 2 other rooms at level 8. We wasted about an hour making the change instead of being able to enjoy our time in Genting. The manager told us that it is due to a system issue and only offer a verbal apology. 2. On the 3rd day, the housekeeping did not make up our rooms until 4 plus. We were shocked as we left the rooms before 12pm as the housekeeping was waiting outside our rooms at 11 plus. I complained to the manager on duty and he told us that the staff told us that they cannot make up the rooms until they completed others. This is unacceptable to me as we cannot use the room until close to 5pm. The manager on duty offered an insincere compensation of late check out (which we don't need) or a free upgrade to a corner room (why would we want to move?). 3. It is super noisy at night we our rooms (8110 and 8112) were facing the roads and the theme park. Music start blasting from 9am in the morning and there were motorbikes etc noises until past midnight. It was hard to get a good night's sleep.
