Failed to deliver a 5 star experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

Firstly on the whole the hotel grounds and beach are stunning ! The room was to the required standard and the service here was very good . This was our 7th hotel on our tour of India and the most expensive however it failed to deliver the experience for such a high end hotel . Arrival failed miserably , paid for our stay then asked to put a deposit down for incidentals which failed . Having spent 30 mins on a call back to the UK to be told their was no issue with card and informed it was the hotels terminal . We were asked to get them to try another terminal and it was accepted straight away . Breakfast at the hotel is lovely with such a fantastic selection , however if you think you’re getting a luxury experience think again . It’s like sitting in a nursery with children running around the restaurant or either screaming or crying . The hotel needs an adult only section !! We asked the restaurant manger to be seated in a quiet area and he showed me where we could be seated . The next morning it was closed so the experience on the last 2 days was the same . We have stayed in many upscale hotels and we have never been served English Breakfast tea in a coffee cafetière. When I asked they said they had no more tea pots …. Unbelievable . Getting a sun bed around the pool is a challenge , people get up early and put towels on them! At 11.08 as per photos ,when we tried to get one there was just bed after bed with no one even at them! 30 mins and the towels should be removed to allow other guests to use the beds . The toilet area at the pool area for a 5 star hotel is an absolute disgrace , broken sinks , poor tiling and cleaning …not up to the standard . Path area heading towards the river end of the resort is dangerous with loose or uneven bricks . It’s a real shame this should have been excellent and we so wanted it to be , we found the staff not as happy compared to our other hotels , they would often walk past and no communication . The hotel had so many occasion for service recovery however they failed on all accounts .

Easily the best in Goa

Stayed here for 4 nights. The property is breathtakingly beautiful, absolutely huge with flower bearing lagoons. It is a sight to behold. The staff is extremely attentive as you would expect from a property like this. Service is usually prompt, but can take time at the rush hours. There are plenty of sunbeds at the beach and a limited F&B service, along with their beach side restaurant Susegado which is highly recommended. We tried the Riverside asian restaurant as well but did not enjoy the food there. The breakfast fare is decent, large spread, ticks most of the boxes but nothing out of the ordinary. The property itself and staff are definitely the highlights.

Me and my Husband had an amazing visit in the St. Regis! We came for more then a week and had a super relaxing time. The location of the hotel is just between the river and the sea. The rooms were clean and organized. The atmosphere was so pleasant, surrounded green and Streams. The service was just spectacular, we felt like the butlers and all servers really want our good and joy. The value to our money was just worth.
