The enduring style of the lodge, enhanced by the nature that surrounds it, has made Tu Tu’ Tun a gathering place as magical as the Rogue River. With almost a life of its own the lodge has made easy the opportunity to let down, breathe in and escape – perhaps to dream.

We recently stayed at Tu Tu Ton lodge in the Steelhead Suite. This Suite is basically a small apartment that has everything you need for your stay. The view is perfect! If you love kicking back and watching the Rogue River, this is the room to stay in. It is located up the stairs above the check in office, so it does have stairs. The room has a wood burning fireplace, comes with wood and lighter so you’re all set to start a fire. Smart TV, nice size living room, dinning table, kitchen, big bedroom and big bathroom. The shower was perfect. The toilet I have to mention because it’s one of those boday ones with a heated seat. The lid goes up on its own when you start to lift it, and a small light comes on which is helpful at night. The bedroom has nice big windows. No TV in the bedroom. The bed was pretty comfortable, I liked the big heavy bedspread it had. The kitchen has everything you need, full size refrigerator, freezer, plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, coffee maker, tea pot, paper towels, regular towels, silverware, knives, plenty of cookware, microwave, stove, oven, all set for making meals if you don’t eat downstairs at the restaurant. The room has 3 bottles of wine and some snacks for additional prices. The ride into Gold Beach to Ray’s Market is about 15 minutes away. I would definitely stay in this room again! Check in was nice and easy, staff are super friendly without a doubt! That’s what makes coming here amazing! The groundskeeper, who has been working there for 18 years now, helped us up with our bags. He also got the fire going in the sauna next to the river. There is a swimming pool that is heated. There is a huge fireplace in the same room where the bar is so it was fun to get a drink and hang out there every night. Then the restaurant is next to the bar so everything is all right there. So what made our stay perfect was the staff. I have to mention Hanna, she was the bartender and also our waitress for dinner. She was amazing, so friendly and just made our stay there so perfect! The dinners were delicious and out of this world! Chef Derek really can cook up not only amazing food but his presentation of the food is like something you see on tv, it was just so perfect! I had halibut, NY Strip and scallops the 3 nights for dinner while my wife had the fillet, fish and chips, and halibut. All were so delicious! The bread is amazing so I would recommend that as well as the potato wedges! All in all it was a great trip! A very romantic trip we will never forget! Thanks to the amazing staff!

Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge was exactly the reset my fiancé and I have been needing. We stayed in a River Glass Cabin and the views were absolutely serene and unreal. The beds and pillows were insanely comfortable and the cabin was SPOTLESS! The sunset on the river turned the water gold and the whole space felt quiet and magical. It was our 8 year anniversary and we spent a perfect afternoon by the heated pool, then wandered into the sauna after and it was pure bliss. Chef Derek was WORLD-CLASS, the 40-day dry-aged Denver cut and beef filet were perfectly cooked and easily the best steak meal I’ve ever had. We left feeling more connected to each-other, nature & the world. We are already dreaming up our next trip!

The entire experience was absolutely perfect. I own a construction company and my daily life is busy and doesn’t stop. It was our 8 year anniversary and what we wanted was a relaxing weekend where everything was taken care of. We got EXACTLY that. The glass cabins were stunning. We were making love as the sun rose over the rogue river and a bald eagle flew across our cabin. Epic. Derek the head Chef blew us away with the phenomenal dinner both nights. The lodge was cozy and classy. The pool, the sauna, the creek with its well kept trail and lush plants. To die for. 10/10 will definitely stay again and again.

Tu Tu Tun Lodge was purchased by new owners in 2023 with the goal of creating an expensive high-end food/wine/bar/spa experience out of what was a 1970s rustic river lodge. Prices are very high, service is lacking and your experience varies depending on the room chosen or perhaps your perceived income level. In the past 2 years, the new owner of Tu Tu Tun added 12 new glass cabins with private patios and outdoor soaking tubs, a tiny but usable sauna by the river, an expensive spa with 25% added gratuity and a really fancy updated dining room/chef/bar/wine list. If you stay in the new parts of the property, the experience may be stellar. The original lodge where we stayed seems to be a relic from the past but with new higher prices. I wish we had known this when we booked the room. We would have stayed in the glass cabins rather than the lodge. Upon arrival, standing awkwardly in front of a temporary paper "check in check out" sign in the lobby, a man sitting in the fireplace area 20 feet away told my wife that she should get a glass of water at the bar. We had no idea who he was at the time (we found out later via Google he's the new owner Charles A Banks) or why he was telling us this. It was weird. Eventually, the new (5 weeks on the job) staff person came back, checked us in, showed us the pool and suggested we check out the new glass lodges. We went to our $475/night plus 18% plus taxes fireplace king room. Built in the 1970s, we saw that the small patio roof leaked (fascia was rotten) with rainwater making the patio unusable as the chairs and table were soaked. The pocket door into bathroom didn't close all the way. The furniture had chips and scuffs. We went back to the lobby and asked for another room because we wanted the experience we were paying for. We were given a 1st floor corner unit and were told it was "two upgrades" in a way that we should have been full of thanks. We were tired from 6 hours of driving and wanted to relax. The room was acceptable/better, we began our 3 night stay. The next day we found sugar ants in room which invaded a nice brownie I bought in town. (No action or discussion from the staff on what to do here. I used Listerine to force the ants to leave and put my lovely brownie outside in the trash.) The upholstery around the bed had holes. No fan in small bathroom. Furniture had seen a lot of use. Good enough for our stay. (Four Seasons would NEVER be like this...5-star hotel mind you!) No one ever followed up with us to see if we were happy. We felt like the cool kids party was in the nicer part of the property and we were parked in the cheap part. We had dinner in the dining room after drinks in the fireplace bar on the 2nd night. The food was well executed but quite heavy. Chef Derek played multiple roles: executive chef/hotel general manager/part time sommelier. When a special bottle of French wine on the list was found to be unavailable, we were offered an acceptable alternate that was from "the owner" who was dining a short distance away with his wife and some special friends. We spent time in Gold Beach, Bandon, Brookings and along the beach during our stay and that was a lot of fun. At Tu Tu Tun, I used the sauna once and it was ok. We were never told about hiking trails or any other Fall-weather activities. Looking at the hotel website, we found out that our original room price was reduced from $475 to $425 during our stay. We mentioned this to the front desk person and asked if we can get that price. We were met with a blank stare and a "thankyougoodbyehaveanicetriphome" buh-bye. Five star hotel! Sheesh.

My husband and I recently stayed at TuTuTun Lodge for our 40th anniversary. As an architect, my husband was especially looking forward to the unique glass cabins along the Rogue River. While the cabins are scenic, the design is disappointing: they are quite small, and the king-size bed is positioned against one wall, leaving one person without a nightstand and forcing them to climb in and out of bed from the bottom--a very poor layout. More troubling, however, was what happened after our stay. I accidentally left several clothing items in the closet, including workout wear and a pair of designer pants I wore to our anniversary dinner. I called the lodge as soon as I realized, and staff assured me this happens often and that my items would be mailed. After two weeks with no package, I called again--only to be told that nothing had been found in the room. This was both disappointing and upsetting, as it's hard not to assume the items were taken. Between the poorly designed accommodations and the mishandling (or disappearance) of my belongings, this was not the anniversary experience we had hoped for. Sadly, we will not be returning.
