Stayed here for a business conference being held nearby, but had enough downtime to experience the social side of the resort. Tip - if you are driving yourself, the entrance is easy to miss! The hotel is really two resorts in one connected by a skybridge over the road. Most all the other hotels entrances appear on the beach side of the road, but this entrance is on the opposite side and up a small hill (and not all that well lit). Plus the entrance sign only points one direction (see photo) so you won’t see it if traveling the opposite way. Look for a skywalk overhead as the signal you are in the right place - and the buildings you do see on the “beach side” will have a sign for the “Seven” restaurant well lit. The lobby and lounge area are a bit small and don’t have that “wow I’m at the ritz” feel I have had in other Ritz properties. The room was fine, but again, nothing to write home (or TripAdvisor) about. They followed standard protocol of offering welcome juice and walking you to your room. There are two pools, but only one on the beach side over the sky bridge has bar service. The other is a basic pool with no services, but quiet. So a bit of a walk if you are in the other tower to the pool with amenities. I did have fun at the main lobby bar with live music one night until about 11pm, and there is free coffee in the lobby each morning. Otherwise this had the feel of a family resort. The pool was expectedly expensive ($12-$15 drinks), but service was a bit slow even by Caribbean service standards (half hour for a check after requesting it for example), having to “wave down” staff walking by you to get drink/food orders taken. But the staff was expectedly kind and helpful when you could get them. Lots of kiddos running around during my stay, which was fine. It had the feel of a family property to me. We traveled to Grand Cayman with the kids actually in March 2017, and chose to stay at a condo on the beach (see past reviews) and having stayed here I don’t think you could go wrong if considering a family vacation, but would recommend the Beach tower.

This hotel is true paradise. What could be better than staying right on the beach with great pools and a 5-star hotel. I have stayed at a lot of Ritz Carlton's and this one is definitely one of my favorites. This is also my go to hotel when I am in Cayman. It doesn't get much better than this, especially if you get a room with ocean views. It may be a bit more pricey than the other hotels, but there is a reason for that.

We enjoyed 7 nights over super bowl weekend with my wife, new born baby girl and family friend, celebrating our anniversary. As Marriott platinum premier members, we were upgraded to one of the ocean towers, and couldn’t appreciate it more, the location couldn’t of been better. The resort is centrally located on seven mile beach and is a short walk/cab ride to tons of great restaurants, giving you plenty of options to choose from. All the pool and beach facilities are fabulous, and seven mile lived up to the hype of being a beautiful beach. I would put it right up there with Grace Bay. While yes, everything is expensive, you definitely get what you pay for, and in no way is it any more expensive than other similar resorts in pricey locations around the world. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Blue, and it was every bit as spectacular as Eric Riperts NY restaurant. I would recommend the seven course tasting and wine pairing. If there is a substitution you want to make, don’t be afraid to speak up, the kitchen is very accommodating, and the service spectacular. For casual dining at the resort, we found a few hidden gems. At Andiamo by the resort tower pool you won’t be disappointed by the burrata salad, or any of the pizzas. At Barjacks by the beach the two best options we found were the nachos and the jerk chicken sandwich. As a side note to food management, we were all disappointed in the fish sandwich, the cut of fish was too thick and chewy. Please, please, please fix this atrocity. The Ritz should have the best fish sandwich in Grand Cayman, it would complete the beach going experience and up Barjacks street credibility. Lastly, we can’t say enough about how wonderful the people working at this resort are. They make you feel welcome and taken care of from the very minute you arrive. Overall this was one of the best vacation experiences any of us had ever gone through, and we can’t wait to go back every year to start a new family tradition.

I completely agree with other reviewers' impressions of this property. The staff are consistently polite, welcoming, kind, happy....exactly what you hope for while on vacation which is to know that the place that is making you happy is also appearing to make the staff happy to be there. Regarding the beach chairs, you have 2 hours to be away from your chairs once you secure them. And by that you need to ask a beach atttendant to set up your towels and add a number with arrival time clipped to the back indicating it is reserved. I will stress there was NO ADULT SECTION on the beach this past week even though someone on here suggested there was. This is the only suggestion I have for this property! PLEASE for the love of all that have raised their kids, have done their time and deserve quiet....section off an area for people without children!!

We just spent a week at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel is immaculate and the service is close to perfect. The beach is gorgeous and the beach-side pool is great. The gym is modern, clean, and one of the best hotel gyms we've been to, and the gym spa (whirlpool, sauna, steam room) is included in the resort fee and extremely well maintained. Our room was on the ocean side, second floor, and the view was of the pool and ocean. The private balcony is a great place to get out of the sun and still be outdoors. A few very minor gripes or things to consider: 1. the hotel is VERY big and there is lots of walking. if you stay in the ocean towers, you have to walk across an indoor bridge to get to the lobby / tennis / gym facilities. The walk is 5 minutes or so. The walkway is GORGEOUS and studded with local art and it became more of a positive than anything for us, but something to consider, especially if you are traveling with kids or someone elderly. 2. concierge help was good, not great. this was in stark contrast to the staff throughout the hotel, which was otherwise uniformly amazing. but the concierges were not quite as knowledgable as one would expect. they were helpful in making reservations, etc., though. overall, again, the property is just wonderful. the Ritz is a great brand and this location does the brand proud. We will be back!!
