Reviews for Amway Grand Plaza
I was here for a business trip. I like the property, there were several restaurants and a nice bar in the lobby. The rooms were clean and roomy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was in walking distance. I never took my car out of the valet for the 3 nights I was in town. Grand Rapids is a nice place to visit and The Amway is very central to everything.

This is a beautiful place in an optimal location, right on the Grand River. The people are friendly, the service is great, I really loved the Amway shampoo and conditioner amenities... So, why only 4 star?? 2 glaring issues: 1) FILTHY windows. We stayed in premium tower rooms with view over the Grand River and should have been spectacular, right? WRONG: COULD have been spectacular BUT windows were positively filthy!!! I have to say I have NEVER seen such filthy windows outside the Halloween "Haunted House" experience. What do I mean fillthy? They were coated with spider webs, dead insects and dirt: looked A LOT LIKE a Halloween Haunted House experience with enormous spiders everywhere!! (for arachnophobes, luckily on the outside!) 2) Valet fee is highway robbery: $35!! You would think they might waive it for handicapped people (I was traveling with my mobility impaired 94 year old mother), but no... Still, the place was very nice and despite all that, I probably would stay here again if I ever have the need to visit Grand Rapids, Michigan

Yes, this is an expensive place to stay. But there are a lot of overpriced, cheaper hotels in GR that can't come close to this grand ol' place. Lots of history. Polite staff. Walls constructed so you don't have to listen to the conversations of your neighbors. Located across the street from the concert I was attending. Parking lot has covered access to get into the hotel lobby (but is $27 extra). Decent Starbucks onsite (skip the Wolfgang restaurant- not worth it). Super comfy bed. Safe in room. Bath tiny but functional. A treat for a special occasion, unless you have a lot of money to spend on hotels.

Trip to small town for business turned out to be very pleasant. The Hotel was absolutely delightful from the check in experience, to the cleanliness and size of the rooms, to the health club and spa, and restaurants. And the Ruth Chris and Starbucks in the lobby topped the hotel experience off. Finally, what a great party district around the hotel, river walk to run and walk on forever, and art festival. All good, no problems and friendly town. My wife and I will be going back for the art festival next year.

Beautiful hotel, tower rooms are lovely, great location and has everything you need!! The room service was wonderful. The spa was okay. Not worth the money. You can get lost in this hotel, they could use some signs. All in all great value and device for your money!!
