One of the most exclusive and exquisite boutique hotels in Mexico, and the first of its kind in Guanajuato, Villa María Cristina is a remarkable experience. Meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful décor are present throughout the property and its 28 spacious suites, with the air and atmosphere of a warmly welcoming home. Sunlight floods in through large windows and original works of art adorn the walls. Unwind from your travels with a massage, or take a soothing swim in the hotel spa's Roman-style sunken pool. The hotel features an intimate restaurant, set in an elegant lounge area on the first floor, with a fireplace and balconies overlooking the street. Serving a flavorful gourmet menu of Mexican and international dishes, complemented by fine wines from the hotel's extensive wine cellar, you need look no further than your doorstep to delight in a memorable gastronomic experience. Reviews for Villa Maria Cristina, Relais & Chateaux
We are pretty discriminating travelers, and we absolutely loved this hotel. It is gorgeous, and the employees were so friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were beautiful, peaceful, and very clean. It is almost a mile from the center of town, but we love to walk, so it was no problem. I also liked that we didn’t have to deal with the noise in the town center. The restaurant is very pretty, and we really enjoyed the food. Also, the bedding was excellent, which is a big deal for me. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Guanajuato!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable and spoke great English. The rooms were large and the amenities were beyond fabulous. It was located in a great area. The food at the restaurants was delicious. The spa was great and Great massages. Totally recommend s this as s Great get away.
Spent a week here for an international even I Guanajuato and totally enjoyed staying in this marvelous place. The architecture resembles the structure of Guanajuato itself, with different pathways and stairways. The staff are kind and helpful and the hotel has great facilities such as spa and swimming pool (indoor and outdoor).

Don"t believe the positive reviews. This place may be the most expenxive hotel in Guanajuaymro, it certainly isn't the 5 star resort it claims to be. The rooms are large, but are decorated in poor taste (faux french) and lack warmth or comfort. The service is amateuristic at best. The bathrooms are cramped with single sink and toilet in the same room as the shower (We didn't have a tub). The water is either scorching hot or cold. Service is certainly not what you expect from a high end hotel. It is run by a bunch of amateurs. Nobody gave us a tour of the property to show all the amenities available (e.g. pool, spa etc.). They couldn't provide us with a map of the city and looked at us strange when we asked for one. (The hotel is about 25 minutes walking from the historic centre). When we inquired about arrangingg a car to the airport, they acted as if this was a first for them. The receptionist got all flustered (there is no congierge), went away to ask around witjh some colleagues for and then said he would arrange for a private car, but we had to prepare to pay with cash. We agreed to do it, only to find out he had forgotten to. What hihh end jotel doesn't have a car service on call? To top it all off, I got sick after eating breakfast in the restaurant. My advice, stay away from this hotel if yoy are expecting service conmensurate to the price you are paying. You are better off staying in a high end place in San Miguel de Allende and taking a day trip to Guajuanato. Also, some of the rooms are very, very noisy. Definitely not living up to the standards of Relais and Chateaux and not worth the price.
This is by far the best hotel that I have stayed at in any country. Everything is perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful and a 15 minute walk to town. The food at this hotel was superb and the best meals that we had in Mexico with very reasonable prices. The room was the size of an apartment with two bathrooms and the bed was so comfortable that it was hard to leave it. The balcony had a beautiful view of the mountains. Spent time lounging at the pool and enjoying the quiet after lots of walking around the city. A massage on the grotto-like spa is a must. Every part of the stay was perfect, including the service. Everyone was very kind and wanted to make sure that we had a great time. Andres was very good to us and made the experience even more special. Can't wait to return!
