Perched on the banks of the Inner Alster Lake in the urban heart of Hamburg, it would appear the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has always been the regal resort it is today. It actually started as a small house purchased in 1897 by Friedrich Haerlin, who over the years added a gala reception hall – now the Wohnhalle tea room – the Art Deco Jahreszeiten restaurant, and a namesake restaurant that today garners two Michelin stars. The property was renovated and air conditioned in 2009, and rooms retain touches of individuality in their rich traditional décor.

I was fortunate to stay at the Fairmont hotel as one of the speakers at OMR Festival. The hotel is stunning. The staff were so polite, friendly, and helpful. The food was incredible. The hotel room was spotless, comfy, and pristine. The entire hotel was faultless. A true 5-star hotel. Highly recommended.

Vier Jahreszeiten deliver the perfect classical hotel experience. Everything is there, and they also succeed in be a bit more personal. You don't feel like just one of all the other guests. Very pleasant - highly recommended

I had a reservation for dinner at The Grill as friends from Hamburg recommended it. Dinner was excellent, I had oysters and lobster and crepes Suzette. I then asked for the bill which was €123. I only had three €50 notes and expected to receive change back from the €150 which I left in the bill folder and was then going to leave a tip of €20 for the waitress. I waited 20 minutes, but had still not received my change back so I got up and walked to the desk and requested my change! I asked her why I had not received my change back she replied she thought it was already her tip and then said it was a misunderstanding!! I was quite annoyed as it spoilt an otherwise nice dinner. This hotel restaurant normally has an excellent reputation and needs to meet customers expectations for quality service. Kathleen, the restaurant manager, apologized for this perceived misunderstanding and offered me some lovely chocolates to enjoy.

One word describes this hotel: Flawless! My girlfriend and I had a prolonged of 3 nights at FVJ. The hotel has a perfect location, on the side of the Beautifull Alster and almost in the center of all the shopping. No problem with parking, the hotel had valet parking, so just give the keys to the staff and the vacation starts. Quick check-in, beautifull room, nice walk-closet, fruit, chocolate & a letter from the manager as welcome. The decor of the interior is stylish, everywhere you look, your catches new great details. We had the very pricey but lavish breakfast, every day. All you could think of except Asian food. We had dinner at The Grill one night, which was one of the best meals we ever had. The staff at the hotel are so kind and serviceminded, respectful and although relaxed. We have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, but somehow FVJ, takes the 1st place in our hearts. This is our hotel, whenever we needs a little romantic breakaway. We will defininitely soon be back. Henrik & Kathrine

This was our first time visit we found hotel to be absolutely stunning! From the moment when we arrived, and we were greeted from the doorman, it was a five star experience all the way. Our room was well appointed and charming. We really enjoyed the old-school door lock keys. It made us feel like we took a step back in time with all of the modern comforts. The staff was awesome and within a day knew our names. They greeted us with a warm smile and were extremely helpful. Our bags got lost on the flight out and they made arrangements to go pick up our bags the next day at the airport. They made it a positive experience.
