Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, Germany

Perched on the banks of the Inner Alster Lake in the urban heart of Hamburg, it would appear the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has always been the regal resort it is today. It actually started as a small house purchased in 1897 by Friedrich Haerlin, who over the years added a gala reception hall – now the Wohnhalle tea room – the Art Deco Jahreszeiten restaurant, and a namesake restaurant that today garners two Michelin stars. The property was renovated and air conditioned in 2009, and rooms retain touches of individuality in their rich traditional décor.

Walk along the Hamburg Promenade, glimpsing the Landungsbrücken, or floating docks. Discover a hidden seafood restaurant and sample one of the city’s famous fish rolls. Take a ferry to view the city from an aquatic viewpoint. Return to the hotel for a Doc Cheng’s Lemon cocktail – lime, Cointreau and passion fruit juice – in a Shanghai-themed bar. Dine on refined Mediterranean-French fusion cuisine at one of Germany’s most lauded restaurants.

The setting is just fantastic and the service to die for. The LĂĽbecker Nutcake is heavenly as is the cheesecake. When visiting take your time this is not to be rushed. You may choose the terrassen where you sit next to the Alster lake. If the sun is out a pleasant afternoon out.

Our room was beautiful, the service was great, the food was great, the location was great. The bed was SO comfortable. I could go into 'great' detail, but no need. Although we did not have any sort of view from our room, it was everything we needed. We had a fabulous time in Hamburg, many thanks to this hotel!

We are not checked-out yet and the housekeeping came in and make preparation for the next guest's stay! The hotel was nice and friendly. But this time, we felt being treated disrespectfully. We have late check-out till 4pm. When we were out for lunch , putting "Do not disturb" on the door. the room was being intruded by housekeeping. What we came back and saw is trash cans on the table and vanity unit, toilet brush in the toilet, all the drawers are opened. They also touched and moved our belongings! When we complained to the hotel reception by phone, they just sent a housekeeping lady to say sorry. They did not see this as an big issue at the first beginning.

We loved our stay for the night at this historic hotel. Try and get a room with a view, well worth it!! Starbucks right down the street too. We did not eat in the restaurant but the ambience looked fantastic. We did the valet parking. Hassle free.
