Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, Germany

Perched on the banks of the Inner Alster Lake in the urban heart of Hamburg, it would appear the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has always been the regal resort it is today. It actually started as a small house purchased in 1897 by Friedrich Haerlin, who over the years added a gala reception hall – now the Wohnhalle tea room – the Art Deco Jahreszeiten restaurant, and a namesake restaurant that today garners two Michelin stars. The property was renovated and air conditioned in 2009, and rooms retain touches of individuality in their rich traditional décor.

Walk along the Hamburg Promenade, glimpsing the Landungsbrücken, or floating docks. Discover a hidden seafood restaurant and sample one of the city’s famous fish rolls. Take a ferry to view the city from an aquatic viewpoint. Return to the hotel for a Doc Cheng’s Lemon cocktail – lime, Cointreau and passion fruit juice – in a Shanghai-themed bar. Dine on refined Mediterranean-French fusion cuisine at one of Germany’s most lauded restaurants.

We spent a long week-end in Hamburg with our 2 year old daughter and chose the Fairmont Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel because it has three high quality restaurants in the hotel itself. Check-in was very easy and personal. The room we got was nicely done, it was decorated in a very classy way, everything in the room looked nice and stylish. The bathroom was kept in a classical way but showing all comfort that you would expect from such a hotel. When you are in this hotel you can sense and feel the history of the hotel but everything is renovated and up to today's standards. The room itself was quite big and the baby bed that we asked for looked as comfy as our own bed. There was no charge for the baby bed which we highly appreciated. What I also liked was the fact that locals also do come to the Hotel bar/lobby to either have a tea or to have a drink which makes you feel like being part of Hamburg. The location of the hotel is very good. It is at the lake and is at the same time very close to the shopping area and to many of the historic sights. It also does not take you too long to get down to the harbour. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel. It is stylish and classy, has all comfort while still keeping its historic feel.

Wow!! Attention to detail is amazing. What a fab place to stay, rooms are light and spacious, bathrooms beautiful, the hotel decor is lovely and very comfortable, staff have the eye for detail and remember what you had the day before. We stayed for 5 days and will definitely be back. Can't recommend it enough!! Location is fab too, 2 min walk from the centre and lots of things to do and see and amazing shopping streets!

We stayed at Fairmont Hotel on January, 2017. the hotel is located in a very nice central area where everything around is on a walking distance. However, the last day of our stay we accidentally broke the ceiling lamb and we reported this incident at the check-out. they informed us that they will contact us once they get the maintenance for the cost estimation. However, an unreasonable amount was debited two days later from our credit card without informing us. otherwise, the stay was great.

the moment you walk through the door, you find yourself in a world of luscious decoration, staff aiming to please, quality and luxury. the junior suite I stayed in was very large and decorated in the same style as the rest of the hotel. The room was equipped with all you needed and even and a separate dressing. breakfast has all you can think off with lots of fresh products.

This hotel is a priceless jewel! It's position on the lake is perfect yet walking distance to town! We enjoyed their breakfast, lunch, and dinners! Beautifully served and delicious! We got a lake view room with a balcony which was very small ! We had to take the chairs out so we could move around! The bathroom was unusually small. We only were there two nights so we coped with it! If you book be sure to get larger room! These pictures show breakfast display, Easter decorations, view of lake in the breakfast room, View across the lake with the daffodils blooming! Convenient for shopping and great walks around the lake!
