Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, Germany

Perched on the banks of the Inner Alster Lake in the urban heart of Hamburg, it would appear the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has always been the regal resort it is today. It actually started as a small house purchased in 1897 by Friedrich Haerlin, who over the years added a gala reception hall – now the Wohnhalle tea room – the Art Deco Jahreszeiten restaurant, and a namesake restaurant that today garners two Michelin stars. The property was renovated and air conditioned in 2009, and rooms retain touches of individuality in their rich traditional décor.

Walk along the Hamburg Promenade, glimpsing the Landungsbrücken, or floating docks. Discover a hidden seafood restaurant and sample one of the city’s famous fish rolls. Take a ferry to view the city from an aquatic viewpoint. Return to the hotel for a Doc Cheng’s Lemon cocktail – lime, Cointreau and passion fruit juice – in a Shanghai-themed bar. Dine on refined Mediterranean-French fusion cuisine at one of Germany’s most lauded restaurants.

We comes 4 times a year to the hotel. I Think there are to many new faces in the reseption eatch Time. Luckely the gays that welcomes you in the entrence are the same polite fellows as normely . We allways like to end ouer day in the cosy bar, where we can smoke.

When somewhere achieves top quality the hardest thing is to keep it that way. Somehow the Vier Jahreszeiten managed to do even better on my last visit. I've been going there for some ten years and it still manages to achieve the highest standards: the hotel itself is always immaculately kept and tastefully furnished but this time the staff were even more polished in their professionalism than ever. This is not a standard hotel - one that conforms to a prescribed group formula - in any sense. Instead it is a long-established classic which sets its own individual standards and they are very high, representing the best of courtesy, style and professionalism. The member of staff who welcomed us and showed us to our room was first class. He simply couldn't have presented a more refined, yet friendly, impression of the hotel. Full marks - again!

The staff of the Fairmont "Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten" Hamburg is extraordinary. They are extremely well trained and professional and above all, what matters even more to me, they are kind and friendly beyond compare and always wearing a smile without faking it. They provide you with an atmosphere that makes you feel being at home and in a 5+ star house at the same time. If you are dissatisfied they will do their utmost to solve the problem and make you feel comfortable again. They value positive criticism to even further their quality. To those of you who intend to spend some time in this hotel I suggest you treat their staff well. They definitely deserve it.

My boyfriend and I met my friend here overnight as neither of had had been to Hamburg before. The hotel is beyond beautiful and gives an authentic old world feel. The rooms are very pretty, beds incredibly comfortable, but no bathtub in the standard room. For me when I'm paying over 300usd a night, there should be a bathtub. The location is perfect overlooking the lake and easy to walk to everything to see in the area. The staff is very helpful and on top of things. The only downside besides the no bathtub is the breakfast buffet was lacking, and left a lot to be desired, best to leave early and find breakfast elsewhere.

Great location but it's important to have a lake view. Rooms facing court yard not so nice. Fantastic roof terrace weather permitting. Breakfast great too, especially service at breakfast. Great gym with variety of things to do.
