Reviews for Hana-Maui Resort

Hana Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The Vibe & Location: This property is unique—it feels more like a cabin-style boutique hotel rather than a standard Hyatt resort. Scenery: The location is stunning with 360-degree fantastic views. It is walkable to Hana Bay, and the atmosphere is perfect if you enjoy nature, dynamic weather, and falling asleep to the sound of waves and rain. Activities & Wellness: Despite being "unplugged," there is plenty to do on the property. Sports: They offer basketball, tennis, and small golf facilities. Pools: There are two pools, but be aware the water was cold, so it might be chilly for a dip depending on the weather. Wellness: They offer a morning meditation session which is a nice touch. You can easily book it via the app. Amenities (Traveler Tip): A huge bonus for longer trips: they have a complimentary laundry room for guests to use. This is a lifesaver if you are mid-trip. Arrival & Parking Logistics: Parking: Parking is not in front of the room but across the street. The Process: You must check in first, then the bellman will escort you and your luggage via golf cart. Check-Out: Simply call '0' for a cart pickup. The Room (Globalist Upgrade): I was upgraded to an Ocean View Bungalow. Condition: The room is a little outdated but still holds the Hyatt level. Notes: No TVs in the room. I requested a microwave and electric kettle, which they provided. Miss: The hair dryer is too weak. Dining: Dinner: Only one restaurant (Hana Ranch) is available. Food trucks are nearby but have very limited hours. Breakfast: The benefit included one entrée, one coffee, and one drink. Unfortunately, the espresso machine was broken, so no lattes were available. Verdict: If you love nature and want to disconnect, you will love it. Just be prepared for the cold pools and rustic logistics!

Yes This is the Place

We absolutely loved this place From the moment we were checked in. Jose checked us in, while the General Manager brought us welcome drinks. Our first night at dinner, Jose dropped by to see if everything was to our liking and then brought Michelle, the Head Chef out to meet us. Everyone acted as though we were all old friends. Michelle, the concierge hooked us up with Kai, who toured us on the Road to Hāna. Turns out he is a local celebrity of sorts. Everyone knew him and again we felt as though we were all old friends. The accommodations were out of this world, with the soft roll of the ocean right outside our door. On about our 4th day we decided to walk to the bamboo forest and were met by a young man who called us by name as he was coming down the trail. It was Jose. Several days after checking us in, he still remembered our names. Be sure and stop by the Spa and meet Luna and tell her she is a “pretty cutie.” The resident minor bird is an attraction by herself. I could go on and on, but bottom line. This is the place.

Heaven on Earth

We stayed in one of the ocean front bungalows, had a hot tub on the deck and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom, two outdoor showers. The place was so relaxing. No TV’s anywhere, forced to relax and enjoy the landscaping and scenery. Many pools on the premises, staff where wonderful, golf carts will pick you up and take you everywhere. Highly recommend

Beautiful area!

Hana is a beautiful and peaceful area. As World of Hyatt Globalists, we were treated well and upgraded to an oceanfront bungalow from the Garden Suite we had booked using a Suite Upgrade Award. The bungalow was roomy, but could definitely use some love as far as maintenance and updating. Compared to other Maui/Hawaii resorts in the same price range, we found it to be slightly below the standards. Most of the staff (general manager, golf cart drivers) were friendly and engaging.

Great Views, Inadequate Dining Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Hana is truly heavenly and one of the world's most beautiful places. Alas, as a result of Covid, the resort's luxe restaurant no longer offers lunch and dinner. The breakfast there is good, but guests now must walk several hundred yards past food trucks down the highway--no sidewalk, no lights at night--to a new restaurant whose offerings are far below what would would expect at a $1,000-a night resort. What a disappointment. If you stay here, the views are idyllic, the service is very good, but if you expect fine--and safe--dining, many other resorts in Hawaii provide that and at lower prices.
