The restaurant is full of charm with architecture from 1925. The view of Plassnt Bay is amazing. The cuisine was first class and so was the service. A great place to celebrate that “special occasion” One of the best kept secrets on Cape Cod.

Rooms/chalets are lovely, comfortable and clean. The service is quick and courteous. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Shuttle service into Chatham but you will need a car for further destinations. Views are incredible. Food a little pricey but worth it. Loved the beaches, just wish that it was warmer weather. All in all very relaxing.

It makes me sad to write this review, since the beauty of the location and the setting make this property so promising. We have been looking for a favorite Cape Cod hotel, and this apparently perfectly planned, well landscaped setting, with the ocean beyond, makes you feel you have "arrrived" and have a blissful stay to look forward to. Although the Rose building, where our room was located, is laid out like any two-story strip motel, our room itself was very spacious and had a private balcony that looked out over a glorious flowering tree, with a glimpse of swimming pool beyond. In spite of the motel-style layout, our room appeared very private, with not another window in sight, clearly the result of excellent planning. (Admittedly the view will be less lovely when the tree blooms fall in another week or two.) There were a series of little glitches that one doesn't expect from a top quality hotel with an abundance of staff wherever you look. E.g. the little creamers for the in-room Keurig machine were all curdled. Yuck. The remote control for the television set wasn't working and needed to be rebooted. None of these were deal-breakers, but with so much staff at their disposal, things could be easily checked in advance to get rooms ready properly. The hint of more serious problems became apparent when the people staying upstairs arrived. Their every step reverberated noisily down to our room, loud enough to wake a person up. No, they weren't tap dancing or running in place, just normal movement was exceedingly noisy. Although there are carpets, apparently there is no soundproofing between the floors. We could only hope there wouldn't be a lot of walking during the night. Later in the evening, there were around 20 slamming doors from all over the building, in the space of about an hour, each time loud enough to make us jump out of our skin. I don't think these were people purposely slamming doors, I think this was just the way the doors closed naturally. What was by then apparent and astonishing, in light of the caliber of hotel we believed this to be, was the complete lack of soundproofing between rooms., and between floors. You could hear the people in the room next door shower, flush toilets, etc. (as another tripadvisor review said, thank goodness they weren't having sex, or you would have heard that too!) Beginning to despair about possibilities of sleep if the level of noise was to continue, we prepared ourselves for the possibility that we might have to check out in the middle of the night, if we wanted to get any sleep. I searched "noise" in tripadvisor reviews, and saw that while many others had the same experience as us, it is by no means universal, so perhaps other buildings have better construction and don't share this problem. I also saw in tripadvisor the management response of "too bad we didn't know this was happening to you," when people described the noise. So we decided to give management the chance to make it right in the moment, and went to reception to apprise them of the problem. The gentleman in charge was apologetic, but only offered to move us to an upstairs room in the same building. I knew from tripadvisor that people on the second floor also complained of noise coming from beneath them, and since it was the same building we knew we would still be vulnerable to the same slamming doors, so that was not an improvement, and we declined. No matter how beautiful a setting may be, the single most essential basis for a successful vacation is a good night's sleep. (that is why we stay at 5 star establishments; we don't actually require the other trappings.) This place failed mightily in that single most important respect. It is as if they plopped a Motel 6 building down in the midst of nice landscaping and spectacular scenery.

I have lived in New England most of my life and been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time on Cape Cod, but I had never been to this exquisite gem of a place. Cottages dot the landscape and almost all seem to have a water view. My room is half a cottage with a huge bedroom and bath with a separate dressing room. My walk out porch overlooks the bay. I want to live here!
