Reviews for Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana
It is worth mentioning that we moved to Kempinski after staying one night at Hotel Nacional de Cuba, which was awful. Kempinski is great, it is by far the best hotel in Havanna. The only other 5* hotel in Havanna that can measure with Kempinski is Iberostar. We chose Kempinski however because it looked more quiet than Iberostar. We reserved a room by phone in the morning and went around midday to Kempinski to check the rooms to ensure they are quiet. The staff at the reception were very helpful. Kempinski has the concept of the "ladies in red", who are responsible for the gest experience. One of these ladies took us and showed as four rooms. She was very helpful and respectful. We chose a room and they reserved it for us. We checked in in the evening and the receptionist gave my wife provisional keys to use the room while I was waiting for the check-in. The rooms are very nice and very comfortable. On the highest floor there is an outside swimming pool, a bar and a restaurant. Also, fitness and a spa area (with a small covered swimming pool). The view from the top is really great, both during the day and during the night. The only thing we would recommend to the hotel is that they should invest more in English lessons for the room service staff. Explaining to them on the phone what we need was very difficult and we had to call twice a lady in red to tell her what we need so she would call the room service to explain them.

Popped in for cocktail and lunch. Our order was incorrect, the waitress missed my husband's order completely. The tapas were bland and the sauces were thick and tasteless. We left quite a lot and asked for the bill, twice. Finally the waitress said 27 pesos, so I asked for a bill. It was 25, so I don't know if she just made it up or knew she wouldn't get a tip as the service and food was so bad. Don't bother!

When you are told about first class hotels in Cuba, you somewhat reserve your expectations, but then you experience this hotel and it's totally legit by any standards and seemingly unheard of in Cuba from what I was told. Staff food and rooms where excellent and the roof top infinity pool with bar giving fantastic views was fantastic had a beautiful time .

When you hear about a first class hotel in Cuba, you somewhat reset your expectations, but then you experience the property. Totally legit by any standards and seemingly unheard of in Cuba, from what I'm told. Not to mention the location.
