Reviews for Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana
We went up to the terrace to get a drink. The view is amazing, the terrace as well but the service is the worst I have ever experienced in any Kempsinki Hotel anywhere in Europe or the States starting from the Front Desk up to the employees at the bar on top or inside.

I went down to Havana for five days with a friend. The hotel was recommended to us by someone who had already stayed there. This is a true five star luxury hotel. Clearly the best in Havana. It was built in 2017 and only two months old when we visited. It is a gem! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It was designed by a French architect. The ceilings are about 15 feet high in the rooms and 20 feet high in the hallways and lobby area. The staff are very accommodating. We loved the pool and restaurant on the sixth floor. The views are great. The pool service is good. The rooms are great with luxurious appointments throughout. The bathrooms are wonderful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There is high speed wifi and American cable TV channels. The hotel doesn't take US$ credit cards. Change CAN or EU at your bank and change to Cuban at the airport for the best rate.
We felt a bit guilty by not staying in an air bnb but after our visit, the guilt is gone! This is a 5 star hotel, in my opinion, especially in a country such as Cuba. We stayed here 4 days/3 nights. Our room was extremely wonderful and bigger than a lot of rooms in the US! The bathroom was top notch, with separate toilet area, beautiful shower and tub with extreme water pressure. Nice soaps were available, just as in the US. The room had both US and European electrical outlets so I did not need my converters. We overlooked the Park with a tiny but adequate balcony and loved seeing the old cars line up each day for taxi rides. The turndown service was a bonus and so nice, as well as the nice note left from our housekeeper on our last night. We had plenty of water left for us in the morning and at night. There was a nice size refrigerator and the mini bar prices were quite reasonable. The mattress and pillows were great. They provided robes and slippers but I must say our robe looked very worn for a brand new hotel. The internet came with a password and was free being a club member. It was very fast, just like at home BUT it was a pain to have to re-log in each time if I had to get off for a few minutes. There was no way to save the password. The reception was a long line when we arrived so they definitely need more help there. Changing money was very very easy there at the desk. The security guard irritated me because my husband walked in with a beer and he would not let us take it up to our room. We literally had to finish it in the lobby. That made absolutely no sense to me. Upstairs on the roof is awesome. We loved hanging out in the lounge chairs with drinks and cigars. The first night service was great but the other 2 nights the "kid" that waited on us was terrible. It took 20 minutes to get a drink and only because I went to the bar and hostess and complained. Then after we never saw the guy again. The missed out on revenues for sure. We gave up and left. The infinity pool is really lovely and the view from up there is awesome, especially at night. I have to say I wanted our first experience in Cuba to be awesome and it was and I credit this hotel for a good portion of that. Cuba is so hot and humid and it was nice to come back after a day of site-seeing and have a cold comfortable room and an awesome shower.

Absolutely stunning hotel, rooms are little gems, plush, clean and finished to a good standard. Positives: We felt very safe whilst sheltering from hurricane irma, sturdy building, was only during the worst of the storm that you could hear a bit of wind outside but hardly anything. Bar staff and house keeping helpful, friendly and attentive even when everyone was sheltering from Irma and the bar was rammed. Bathroom is stunning, bed deliciously comfortable, a great stay if you can afford it, prices a tad steep but at the cost of our safety it was worth it. Negatives: The first few days there the front of house and security were snobbish and extremely rude. The last 2 days the front of house were really lovely. Think some staff are confused between the concept of being highly professional and then looking down your nose at people. One young man, a security guard went as to far as question me if i was a guest at the hotel when he had clearly seen me the day before and told me off for perching on the edge of a stone pillar, also I had my key card in my hand which you need get in the lift in any case. I dealt with this rudeness by asking him if I didnt look like a customer, when he pulled his neck in. The water and coffee in the room was meant to be updatd everyday which it wasn't, when i asked for some from house keeping they expected a tip for sorting it out even though it was a service that we were told came with the room. In all honesty its a stunning hotel and i loved my stay but for the price, certain elements need to be improved. I especially do not expect to tip to the level we had to on the pricing we were paying
