About the Hotel

The façade may be baroque and the name Rococo, but throughout the Palacio del Marqués de San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal is an ultra-modern, high standard hotel. With Old Havana as a timeless backdrop, the view from the 6th-floor roof terrace confirms San Felipes’ perfect location. The Cuban aristocracy of the 18th-century, from when this building dates, realized this. Emblematic sights from the San Felipe include the Basilica de San Francisco and the pigeon-filled plaza of the same name with its distinctive fountain. All standard rooms are shaped and equipped with high-end furniture. Unconventional colors and combinations are used to full effect, enhanced by indirect lighting.

Birthday holiday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed May 2, 2019

I booked they sister hotel through British Airways but I had a couple of problems when I arrived at the hotel there was no air-conditioning so I was moved to this hotel 3 minutes away San Felipe Y Santiago De Bejucal both Hotel’s great location. I really have to say the General manager Pablo Marquéz Critin and the General manager form there sister hotel Claudia Rodriguez Estrada was just amazing the hospitality the warm welcome I got from them Both was unbelievable, they really went out of the way and the hotel staff to make sure my stay in La Havana was truly unbelievable I really can’t thank both general managers for looking after me so well truly a five star service and experience Once again thank you both for what you did for me and making my Birthday and holiday one to remember Well done guys 5* all the way

Stopped for lunch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed February 3, 2019

There was a menu posted outside and it looked like a good place to stop for a light lunch We were asked if we wanted to sit in the courtyard or in their air conditioned dining room. We chose the dining room. We were handed a menu that was a complete meal. The language barrier didn't help so we stayed and ate. You were allowed to select the entre. I chose chicken which was good and my husband chose the skewer of meat. They didn't identify the meat on the menu and my husband wasn't sure what it was. He didn't like it and left most on his plate. Our dessert was 2 small cream puffs with some sort of filling. I have a gluten allergy so I couldn't eat the dessert. Our total meal was $55 CUC for the 2 of us and we ate little of it. They did not rush the meal and I had to ask for the check.

Not good value

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed January 3, 2019

We stayed 3 nights just before xmas. Checkin went fine. Room was ok although quite noisy due mostly to street noise that lasts till midnight and starts again around 06:00. We were recommended a restaurant the first night that turned out to be expensive with a very limited meal (just had a drink a left). Breakfast was good once you got it, staff not really interested in serving you most mornings. Getting a second cup of coffee not easy. Hotel was quite empty so not sure why the service was so poor. It is in a fairly handy location in front of the marina where the cruise ships park. The old square is a 2 minute walk. This hotel is not cheap and we don't feel it is worth the price we paid for it.

We had a lovely stay in Havana. Did you no there is little or NO crime in Cuba as NO GUNS ALLOWED in Havana that fact surprised us. Visiting Cuba was a fabulous in every way if one has the opportunity to do so my suggestion do it!
