I HAVE BEEN A GUEST AT Kruger Park Lodge, Hazyview - a four star propterty – at their restaurant called G’s at KPL. This has been my experience which certainly does not correlate with the 4 star status. On both occasions the Operator or Manager was inconspicious in his absence - which meant that there was chaos in that children from outside the formal dining area raced backwards and forwards thought the restaurant in high fettle without any checking – not a good atmosphere for a special adult dining event - was like sitting in a ‘’kindergarten’’ environment. A poor show ! The restaurant appears to be understaffed - or excessive outside bookings are caretered for - as service of beverages were done piece meal - with a totally unacceptable waiting period for the complete order to be served. The opportunity thus of raising a toast was delayed, delayed, delayed. Not good. Compliments needs to go to the chef, the food was nicely prepared and served. The only disappointment was the curried lamb, a lot of bone and fat on the meat. The quality of the meat ie whether it was boneless meat ie meat not on the bone, was initially confirmed with the waitron prior to placing the order. Ignorance ? In order to highlight this situation … it was noted on both occasions that we were at the ‘’G’s at KPL’’ that the Management had to sweeten the indifferent service situations at various tables, either with a complimentary bottle of wine, or complimentary sweet dishes – the clattering of crockery, breaking of crockery etc etc. No, not a standard for 4 star expectations – definitely a ‘’poor’’ on the schedule.

A group of 11 of us came here on the night of my fiends birthday, we were staying on site in the lodges so wanted to celebrate my friends birthday in a restaurant. As this was walkable and no one had to drive we decided to try the Rapids. We are very glad we did. they dressed the table beautifully for the occasion and made sure my friend was looked after. Good choices on the menu, and nicely presented and tasty, good wine list and reasonably priced, we spent a great evening there, made extra special by the best happy birthday song we had ever seen/heard, all the waitresses all the kitchen staff, came out to sing and dance for us, fantastic!

The staff complement the natural beauty and peaceful ambiance of this stunning resort. The grounds are very well maintained with the natural wildlife adding extra excitement and 'experience' to this resort. I will definitely stay there again.

What a great place to stay. Great service and wonderful staff. The golf course is world class and the game on site are beautiful. Hippo pool and impalas where ever you look. The rooms are clean and spacious and beautifully maintained. We will be back for sure.

Stayed in unit 401 at the dam on the 7th hole. It is a palace. 2 huge suites and enough other rooms to sleep 10-12, gym, double decker plunge pool, outdoor kitchen, billiards, AC in rooms. Lower deck table for 8 to comfortably have dinner, upper deck for morning coffee. Staff was excellent, property well maintained - there was a problem with the braai, they came and fixed the braai. Close to Elephant Whispers and Phabeni gate (both important to a Mpumalunga vacation). On site - get up at dawn an walk about - impala, vervet monkeys, hippos, skinks, egyptian geese and nile monitors abound. Great value from a Canadian dollar perspective. Our travelling buddies have been several times - and now so will we.
