My wife and I spent a couple of days in Les Mars for the weekend of the Santa Rosa Ironman. It's a very nice small boutique hotel with a family feeling. All the staff was very attentive and nice to us. We even got directions for a running route. The Healdsburg town is very nice as well, and you'll find many great restaurants walking distance. The Shed, all natural market and restaurant, is right beside it. You even get breakfast delivered to your room daily (small portions though). Overall I can highly recommend Les Mars over the other hotels we tried in Healdsburg.

Wonderful, classic hotel which is the perfect place to come home to after a day of wine tasting. Lovely décor, polished and professional staff. Staying here was an indulgence. As other reviews have said, there is some noise in the morning as crews clean the streets and pick up garbage, but if you live in an urban area, this will be nothing new to you. I called ahead and asked if there was a pharmacy near the hotel where we could pick up distilled water for my husband’s CPAP. They explained where the pharmacies were, but then told me they could also arrange to have it waiting in our room, which they did, free of charge. A small thing given the cost of a bottle of water, but incredibly appreciated that we did not have to go in search of it once we arrived. These small extras are the things that set excellent hotels apart from the ordinary. Our room was beautiful – we booked a room on the top floor with a vaulted ceiling which really made the space feel large and airy. If you are out wine tasting all day, make sure that you leave room for one more tasting when you get back to Les Mars. Every day at 5:30 to 6:30 a local producer holds a tasting in the lobby – a great way to learn more about the terrific wines of the area. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. I guarantee we will be back.

Beautiful little hotel with great service. This little hotel surpassed our expectations both in accommodations and service. The location in Healdsburg is walking distance to all the great restaurants as well.

This was our 6th stay at a Relais & Châteaux property, from California to New Zealand...all are so very nice. Our first was in Carmel By The Sea, L'Auberge, just down the coast from Les Mars. It too was small with not a lot of rooms, however a bit more welcoming and accommodating than Hotel Les Mars. Les Mars was a very nice property, quiet, rooms nice and clean with a friendly staff. Turn down service was done and our rooms always picked up. We had the 3rd floor corner suite, it had a good view of the area. I would recommend eating at the establishment next door, Chalkboard, very good. Small place but such great food and people that work there. My only concern with this hotel is breakfast starts at 8:00, which is indeed early but we would get up and leave at 7:00 to go hiking and get to places before mass crowds would arrive. There was nothing available for us prior to taking off, no pastries, yogurt, fruit etc. Being it is included in the stay I would think there would be something that could have been done. We called down and asked if we could have anything earlier and were told the chef gets there at 8:00, so they couldn't have anything there for us. I know at other Relais & Châteaux properties they do have something light for you if you mention you can't make the breakfast time. So at Les Mars we just went and bought our own breakfast elsewhere off the property being we couldn't wait for it to be made, we'd be leaving the hotel probably around 8:30-9:00 if we did that each day. In all it was a nice stay but just a tad different than what we've experienced from the other properties we stayed at with regards to the service.

On a prior trip on the recommendation of a business associate, we detoured to spend a few hours in Healdsburg. We really enjoyed the downtown area, and vowed to return. We had that opportunity in January and made the most of our three days and two nights by staying at Hotel Les Mars. We could not have been happier with that choice. The accommodations and the service were first class all the way. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They arranged for a complimentary tour for us of the Chalk Hill Winery as well, which was very appreciated. The room was very nice with antique furnishings and the four poster bed, and given the unseasonably chilly weather, we made full use of the fireplace. I would recommend Hotel Les Mars without hesitation and hope we can visit again.
