Racist harassment by staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Amanda and her rainbow friend at the front desk kept calling the phone and hanging up until I told Tammy the security supervisor that I would call the Las Vegas Police department. So when they try to harass you to get you upset and call the police on you but you turn the tables on them because you can record their racist, harassment and give the proof to law enforcement.

AVOID DISCIMINATORY BEHAVIOR BY MANAGEMENT

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Discriminatory behavior by management. Booked this hotel before closing on our home in Lake Las Vegas, Very stunned by the discriminatory treatment and outright lies when we tried to extend after the closing was delayed. If you are a person of color or wearing a hijab, this hotel does not want your money so avoid. Lies told by management 'we have no availability,' 'rooms were sold out' and 'no long term rate.' Imagine living in 2024 and being told because of the color of your skin outright lies when you go online and can book the room. Sad to think I will be living in a community with hotels with employees discriminating against my children and I. Nver expected this by a hotel who hosted superbowl teams. NFL BEWARE!!!

Disappointed with almost everything

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Disappointing stay at the Westin Las Vegas. Overall, the property and the rooms are tired and below average. Specifically the room I stayed in had signs of distress throughout. The fixture in the bathroom sink was worn to the point where different colors of metals were showing on the faucet. The bottom of the bathroom door and obvious signs of water damage. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. There was no chair for the desk. Service was below average as well. The staff was overwhelmed by the attendees of the conference I was there for. Drink and food orders sometimes took an excess of an hour. The spa was closed for renovation. The hot tubs were broken. The pool restaurant was not open. The beach was not open. The choices for eating are extremely limited. The breakfast was similar to a Holiday Inn buffet. Always the same with a limited selection. I’m not exactly sure what the resort fee provided for as nothing was open except a pool. This is NOT a destination, stay elsewhere.

Disappointing stay for a Westin property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I'm a Marriot Bonvoy member and I've always liked Westin properties. This property has points for it in the location, the nice ambiance and architecture and ease of parking. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles were on the floor of the shower because there was no shelf installed in the shower. Asked the front desk to send someone to install a shelf, no one came. The digital phone key to unlock the room door didn't work. For any of the phones we had in my party. The lower-level pool was closed for refurbishment, so my son couldn't use the only pool with a slide. Worse yet, the only access to the beach at the lake was via that pool, so we had to lake access, which is the reason we booked there in the first place. The upper pool's jacuzzi was lukewarm, barely warmer than the pool, nowhere near a hot tub temperature. We asked the front desk why and got shrugged shoulders. There are two ping pong tables, one was dilapidated and unplayable with a sagging net and damaged legs. The working table was constantly in use as a result. The recreation kiosk had nothing to loan out in terms of footballs, volleyballs or anything else for a dad to play with their kid in the pool. In all, it was a disappointing stay for what I've come to accept at a Westin brand. I won't book again.

Nice Front Desk .... Sick From Restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I decided to go on a quick vacation just for a day and thought a trip to Vegas away from the strip would be good. The hotel itself was nice on the outside. The room needed a little love, the bathroom shower was dirty with hair and rust, gross. The view of the lake was beautiful from my room. The worst part was eating at the steakhouse in the restaurant. They served me a pretty rare steak when I asked for medium well and I requested no onions on my fried rice. When the food arrived the server even repeated fried rice, no onions of any kind and my first bite guess what bits of onions. When I looked at the steak it was already cut in half and obviously rare. Waiter was very apologetic. Felt sick that evening, went home feeling miserable. The front desk staff was very nice, the blonde who checked me in was very helpful and nice. I had high hopes for the property, not sure if I would go back.

We booked the Hyatt Regency at Lake Las Vegas, a five-star property for three nights. It was truly a phenomenal value and some great memories!
