Wow, 4th time here & I think it can’t get much better but it does. Stayed in a more secluded area of the hotel which I really enjoyed because it offered a completely different view which was a nice surprise. Same friendly your-wish-is-my-command service. Still not used to that type of service & attitude. It could be the Aloha spirit which basically is nice, kind, decent folks. What really made this trip special was in addition to my husband there; I had 2 crazy funny gal pals. It was so much fun to party with your peeps in Paradise. We pretty much laughed, ate & drank in that order. Memorable restaurants were Gaze, Side Street & Hy’s steakhouse. Be warned you’ll pay top $$ for Hy’s but it was worth it. On top of that saw one of my fav performers, Jackson Browne at the Waikiki shell outdoor concert hall. Nice small venue but acoustics seemed not great on left side of stage. Maybe speaker problems. This vacation was a highlight in my life. 🌺 Mahalo Flora & Team Kahala❤️🌺 Aloha

Yes it is away from the shopping of Waikiki, yes it is not cheap, yes it is very quiet, and yes, we love it! Atmosphere is serene, views are amazing, and the tropical fish and dolphins and sea turtles on property are beautiful. Great place for a wedding and a great place for an anniversary! Pack a few books and get away 😎

My husband and I wrapped up our 9-day babymoon vacation with a 2-night stay at The Kahala. I booked the room four months ago and booked a special package by booking early and paying in advance. I would highly recommend doing this because doing so awarded us with $150 worth of resort credits, which you can use for onsite parking and dining. This is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. From the moment you check in and receive a mint towel and fresh lei, you are treated like royalty. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The property is intimate and lovely and does not feel like a resort at all, but rather a boutique hotel. The pool is nice and clean, always had plenty of lounge chairs available on the weekend and even though there were children, they were all well-behaved. The beach is lovely, not over-crowded and the water calm. We dined at both Hoku’s and Arancino’s - both are 5-star restaurants. Really exceptional service and food, coming from someone that lives in a big city and knows good food! Highly recommend Hoku’s for brunch. Arancino’s pre-fixe has fantastic options. We booked a photography session with the onsite Pacific Dream Photography last minute and they accommodated our request for a sunrise shoot of our baby bump (maternity photos). The session was complimentary and the photos turned out beautifully. We purchased a package. Loryn and Macy were so great to work with - responsive to texts/emails and very professional and talented. Highly recommend if you want to have special photos taken during your stay. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. If/when we return to O’ahu, we will absolutely stay at The Kahala again.

The resort is from another world a.k.a HAWAII We almost drowned but its ok. The dolphins were amazing and the locals are very nice. One of them let us stand on his surfboard to take a photo... The sea is a spectacular color... They had great facilities nearby and our favorite was the cheesecake factory. :)

Had a fantastic stay here- can't say enough great things about the Kahala. We had two rooms- one for two adults and one for three older teenagers. Our rooms were Ocean View Lanai, so they directly overlooked the arrival circle and parking area, but looked out onto the beachfront and had fantastic views of Diamond Head from the lanai. The rooms are large (the room for the teens had a rollaway and two double beds and still had enough room to get around) and the bathrooms are large and well appointed. The restaurants on site are a little pricey but worth it. We had the breakfast buffet at Plumeria Beach House that was included with our rooms and enjoyed going down daily. We also ate dinner several nights at Plumeria including their seafood buffet on Friday evening- all meals were fantastic. We ate one night at Arancino, the Italian restaurant onsite, and had an amazing meal there. Unfortunately, their signature restaurant Hoku was closed during our stay. The beach is protected enough to make swimming very safe. It's not a great lagoon for snorkeling (water too cloudy) or body boarding (waves break too far out). We did rent stand-up paddleboards, which the teens were brave enough to take out past the reef to where the breakers were. Chairs both at the beach and poolside were available even without reserving in advance. The teens participated in the Dolphin Quest encounter and loved it, but you can enjoy seeing the dolphins without participating as they are easily viewed in their lagoon. Overall we had a fabulous time. It's pricey, but comparable to other luxury resorts and worth every penny.
