The Kahala is a bit hard to describe given the stunning decor, service, staff, restaurants, location, cleanliness, view, beach, dolphins, etc. What a stunning facility that would be hard to top ANYWHERE. We had a stunning view of the ocean, ate multiple meals at the hotel, enjoyed breakfast on the first floor sitting outside on the edge of the beach, watching a Japanese wedding that was about to occur on the beach almost in front of us. If you do decide to try this exquisite hotel, please make sure you try at least one of their in house restaurants and also spend time with the dolphins at the hotel's pond: truly memorable. Also I believe that for an extra charge you can "swim and play with the dolphins". One more thing: the location of the Kahala is on the "other side" of Diamond Point and this is a stunning advantage. It is located in a private high end neighborhood, the ONLY hotel in the area, next to a private golf course and NOT on Waikiki. But hey, a rental car or cab gets you to Waikiki in less than 15 minutes. Perfect. For that special occasion, this is a sure bet to use for your visit. You won't be disappointed.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we left this beautiful hotel, we felt like royalty. The staff from the desk agents, to maids, to bellmen, to valet were all so very kind and made our stay here absolutely wonderful. Our day started out horrible until we got to the hotel and then because of the staff, they made all our worries go away. We ate at all of the restaurants on the hotel grounds and ALL of them were absolutely fabulous!. We definitely want to come back again. Our basic room looked like a suite, we were truly blessed. I can just imagine what their suites look like. The dolphins in the pools were beautiful! All of it is just so wonderful and welcoming. We didn't want to leave.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. It is ideally located with its own superb beach-front some twenty minutes away from downtown Honolulu. That isn't a problem by-the-way as the hotel provides a shuttle service into various points in town. Right from the start of our stay we experienced outstanding customer service from all the members of staff we encountered. It was obvious from the onset that all staff are trained to a high level in dealing with their guests, this has to be applauded. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Sleep quality was excellent. Amenities and facilities were top notch. Dining options were good and menu options were interesting and varied. The private beach was splendid. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay immensely. My only personal reservation about the place was the dolphin lagoon. I found it hard to see these beautiful creatures used as a money-making attraction for the hotel. They should be allowed to roam the oceans free, as nature intended.

Stressful check-in....we had booked a King Lanai Lagoon Room but upon arrival they only had two doubles and that was not ok with us. Long story short we met Rainui a Front Desk Manager who came and showed us several options with his colleague and we were beyond satisfied with views of my dolphins and ocean. He exceeded expectations...they were both soft spoken and refined gentlemen who knew how to please and welcome. I would like to also thank him for the amazing cheese platter that had beautiful soft cheeses and crackers and the grapes were so sweet. We wrapped it up and had again the following day. The champagne was so welcoming. You outdid yourself! We appreciate your handling with such grace and what you did came from sincerity and professionalism. Hotel, food and beach is all one needs. The Kahala has it all right here.

Exceptional service, attention to details, impeccable grounds and beach with island flair is what the Kahala is all about. Did not get off to a good start but staff quickly made a room change and the vacation was a huge success. Great food, amazing beach, and a song playing on the TV when you turn it on that will be etched in my memory for ever. Mahalo nui loa and Aloha Kahala until next time.
