Where to begin. This resort is top notch. I have NEVER slept so well as I slept here. The bed is to die for. The views are to die for. Have I mentioned the breakfast buffet? Out of this world. The beach is secluded and gorgeous. A little disappointing that you have to pay so much to enjoy it. Especially since the only pool has tons of kids. The cabanas on the beach are not cheap. The pool is free but not very relaxing. My suggestion would be an adults only pool. The staff is to top notch. I MUST mention our all time favorite, Dean the Concierge. Dean was born to do his job. My husband and I absolutely loved him. In fact, maybe went too far by asking if he would come home and live with us??!! He is the most kind man and is so willing to help you with anything and everything. Always with a smile on his face. I would go so far to say that HE made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. And if his boss is reading this, HE DESERVES A RAISE!!! A couple of very small changes. Don't get me wrong. This place is near perfection. However, if they want to reach perfection it would be nice if the bathroom's had a ceiling fan. It gets quite warm in there doing hair, applying makeup, etc for the ladies. Also, the vanity has no drawers for makeup, etc And, last but not least, a small step in the shower for the gals to shave their legs. Now, my husband's MINOR complaints. He went to the workout room early every morning. He also loved the steam room. He said it would have been nice to have decent razors down there along with some more toiletries for the guys. Such as, after shave, etc. As I said, all MINOR things. We absolutely loved our trip. We went to recharge and have our trip of a lifetime and that was accomplished. We were treated so well by the lovely staff. Kudos to all of you on a job well done (especially our beloved Dean! We will miss you!) David and Julie Gill

The Kohala is an unbelievably calm oasis on a very busy island. We stayed here for almost a week and found it hard to leave. I never found that the hotel or grounds felt crowded and some days I would be one of only a few people on the beach or in the water. The fitness centre is excellent and I can strongly recommend the yoga classes offered through the resort. We ate at the Plumeria every morning and the food was good and the staff was WONDERFUL. My husband and I look forward to returning...

Recently, my company held an event at the Kahala Hotel & Resort, on the Diamond Head lawn for several hundred people. Grace Chan, the Director of Catering & Conference Services, worked tirelessly with us from start to finish on a plethora of details. I was very impressed with how thorough she was in her planning with us, and I felt no stone was left unturned. All of our calls and emails were returned with lighting speed, which can be rare when working with busy hotel. I felt the level of customer attention was the highest I have experienced in quite some time, and I deal with lots of Hotel partners in my line of work. The venue space was very well manicured with a breathtaking view. The staff at the event attended to us with great care and detail, and accommodated all of our requests with a fantastic attitude. Laurie, our banquet captain, was a powerhouse and she was backed up by Lindsey and Aaron, two other stunning customer service professionals. They were "YES" people throughout the setup, actual event, and breakdown, and made us feel extremely well cared for and assisted throughout the entire process. The food was top notch and very well executed by their dynamite culinary team, and we enjoyed high end beverages served by their sophisticated and friendly service team. We received rave reviews from our guests about the whole experience, from the valet team to the food and beverage and gorgeous location. Several of us booked rooms to stay overnight, and the luxurious experience continued with gorgeous rooms and opulent amenities. For these reasons, we have decided to have our next event at the Kahala again, and I foresee us taking our business to them repeatedly. I would highly recommend the Kahala to anyone who is looking to plan an event, or just get away for a luxurious vacation/staycation. Their level of service and attention to detail will not disappoint you!

We traveled to the Kahala, our first visit to Hawaii, with four adults, once of which was handicapped and in a wheelchair. Our flight, on United Airlines, was a nightmare and we arrived 8 hours later than scheduled. Check-in went extremely smooth even though it was late at night. The hotel is spectacularly beautiful and clean. The hotel staff was more than accommodating and happy to help with any need that we had. Traveling with a handicapped individual is not an easy task. The hotel went far and beyond to make his stay as comfortable as possible. We had booked our activities through Cameron Frithsen, the concierge at the Kahala. I put this poor fellow through the ringer with e-mails and correspondence for months before our trip trying to plan every detail. He was professional, courteous and straight out extremely patient with me. He is a shining star, of which there are many, at the Kahala. I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel. They are helpful, they are friendly and they are over the top accommodating. The location of this hotel is off the beaten path of Waikiki, which was perfect for us, since we sought rest and relaxation. The beach, the hotel and the setting was truly paradise. The Dolphin Cove was an interesting addition that we kept visiting again and again. We ate in all of the restaurants. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I would travel back to the Kahala again and again. This was truly a trip of a lifetime that did not disappoint.

My husband and I stayed last September and whilst the property was very handsome and well-maintained, we had some initial issues with our room and parking. The service manager swiftly addressed these issues and rectified those that he could. Although outside of Waikiki, there is a free shuttle and the property is nice and quiet. The pool could have done with being bigger given the number of rooms, and I stick by my original comment about preferring to see dolphins in the wild. Overall I would definitely stay there again.
