The Kahala Hotel & Resort

We are celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. We got married here when we’re 24 and 22. We love this hotel. We spoiled and pampered ourselves extra this year. The staff were very well trained and extra friendly compared to last year. We enjoyed the spa services ( massages and pedicure) and soho New York haircut and lashes extension services. The staff at both locations were professional and pampered us. We want to say an extra mahalo to Megan Ibara and Eian Tsosie for the early check in and late check out accommodations and meticulous housekeeping services. They made our stay extra magical and memorable. Also want to shout out to Tre at the seaside grill. Everytime we stopped by and grabbed a bite to eat he was so kind to recommend special dishes and drinks and made us feel so welcome. He is such a friendly cheerful guy. I come to Hawaii once or twice a year and my stay in Oahu is always at the Kahala. I’ve stayed at the hotel for over 20 years and I’ve never been disappointed. The service is always excellent. My only complaint is the new third party concierge company - they don’t even come close to the service the in house concierge group used to give to all of their guests. Also there are some small items that the hotel has gotten rid of that I find disappointing - chocolates on the pillow after the turn down service, inside slippers in the room to use during your stay, chocolate macadamia nuts in the room upon check-in and water bottles given to guests by the valet folks for people leaving the hotel for their excursions.

Just wow. Sayuri took excellent care of me for the entirety Ke'Aloha package. Was the massage the best? The soak? The facial? Her attention to detail? Or how much better my entire body feels inside and out after travel and too much sun. I'm in love.

From the moment you arrive, it’s easy to see why The Kahala Hotel & Resort is such a special place. The beautiful setting, peaceful atmosphere, & classic Hawaiian elegance make it one of Oahu’s truly memorable resorts. Our stay, however, didn’t start out quite as we had hoped. What could have left us with a disappointing impression instead became one of the reasons we will return because of the exceptional way the Kahala team responded. We especially want to recognize Front Office Manager Reiko Hirose. Reiko personally took the time to listen to our concerns and handled everything with warmth, professionalism & genuine care. She didn’t simply address the situation; she made us feel that our experience truly mattered. Her efforts completely changed the direction of our stay & made the remainder of our time at The Kahala exceptional. That level of service is what separates a beautiful hotel from a truly great one. Problems can happen anywhere; what matters is how they are handled. Reiko & the Kahala team demonstrated exactly what five-star hospitality & customer service should look like. The Kahala has earned our recommendation, our appreciation & most importantly, our desire to return. Thank you, Reiko, for making such a difference in our stay. We look forward to returning to The Kahala on our next visit to Oahu.
