This trip has been so amazing. Our room, 825, has the most amazing tranquil view of palm trees and lulling waves and sand. The attendants here are so friendly and responsive. This hotel truly made us feel special and took care of our two year old daughter. They even gave her a dolphin toy at check in to start us off right foot. The bed is very comfy, the bath and shower feel great, the amenities impressive and the food delicious. We love eating at the plumeria for breakfast each day and then heading out to swim at the beach and in the pool. One of the highlights of our stay was the photo session with pacific dream photography. We were quite pleased with Loryn who took an already incredible landscape and combined it with a fantastic sunset and really creative poses in multiple settings. What was truly impressive is that we have a two year old who wasn't that cooperative for the shoot. I wasn't sure how that would translate until we went to the photo review appointment and had a decent amount of trouble chiseling down the photos because so many were incredible and keepers. We went with the 20 photo package and can't wait to have these memories on our walls at home and shared with our friends and family. Since the photo session was complimentary and appointment to review the photos was very comfortable with no sales pressure, the entire experience was enjoyable with no downside.

On 2 July The Kahala Resort turned on the most stunning day for the most memorable day of our lives! We cannot praise Anna, Cerise & the wider Kahala team enough for making our special day so perfect. If you're ever in Oahu you should make an effort to check out this fabulous property and the class and quality it oozes. @thetravellingroses

The Kahala is locally known as the Hollywood of Honolulu. There is a hall with pictures of the rich and famous "names" from around the world who stayed as guests of the Kahala, spanning several decades. The East-Facing beach is ideal for sunrise views or swimming, or weddings. Many, many weddings. The rooms are simply fabulous. All of them are quiet, beautifully decorated, and include advanced Toto Washlet automated bidet systems on the toilet. Generous windows have blackout drapes that fit perfectly. Maid service 2x per day that will spoil you for any other hotel. Four dining options span the gamut from internationally-recognized chefs to simple beachfront meals. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, with homes (and some international embassy properties) that range in value from $1.7 million to about $34 million. Avid runners should get a jogging map from the reception desk to avoid certain streets that are too narrow for safe pedestrian use. A wide coral reef protects the hotel's beachfront from big waves, making it exceptionally safe and easy for all levels of swimmers. For surfers, the breaks are at least .3 miles out, but paddling in the area is easy. The pod of male Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins in the hotel's integrated dolphin lagoon live their entire lives there, meeting and playing with thousands of human visitors (including, now, me) along with their dedicated, respectful human trainers. The joy and playful intelligence of the dolphins is wonderful to experience up close. The hotel offers familiar luxury services, such as spa, gift shop, room service and so forth, but in each case with distinctive passion for excellence. All of this is only a 10-minute drive from the other Honolulu attractions.

Based on my prior reviews, this was our 11th stay at the Kahala (I must have skipped a review for September of 2016). We obviously keep coming back which is a good sign. This trip was a little different. We stayed the entire time at the resort for a total of eight nights. We did mix it up by spending the first 4 nights in a Dolphin Lagoon room and then 4 in an Ocean Front Suite in the Tower. We barely left the resort and spent most of the time on the beach in a cabana. I honestly don't know what I can say that would be new about the hotel, rooms etc. that isn't already in one of my prior reviews. So I will give a few tips. If you do book a Dolphin Lagoon room, push as hard as you can for an upper room. We were in a lower, which was fine, but having stayed in an upper previously, they are definitely better for watching the dolphins. We knew we wanted to use a beach cabana every day so we just talked to the beach/pool team on the first day and asked them to set it up for us every day. That way we always had the one we chose and it was set up really early. We found the food to be even better than on prior stays. We had a great meal at Hoku's, the breakfast buffet is amazing, the club sandwich at the Veranda was really yummy, I could go on and on! This is part of why we hardly left the resort. Comparing the two rooms, not surprisingly the service while in the suite was better - no missed turndowns, prompt room make up. Not a huge deal but I did note it. We were on the 7th floor while in the suitr and on this stay there was an issue with the hot water - at times it took a REALLY long time to make it to our room. Maybe not many guests in the tower thus no one pulling water, but we would literally have to start the shower and then wait 5-10 minutes before it was warm. If you do a suite, we recommend one at the end of the hall (the "13" rooms rather than the "1" rooms - we were in 713). These rooms have an extra window and are more quiet. I have to recognize Carlos the front desk supervisor. He went above and beyond in helping us transition between rooms and ensuring we got the room we wanted. Thanks so much Carlos! We will definitely be back again if they will have us!

Gorgeous hotel with the best service I've ever experienced at a hotel. Gorgeous rooms and amenities. The food was good, if the choices were a little limited, but there were a variety of restaurants to choose from. The beach was perfect, wonderful clean sand, and lovely area.
