About the Hotel

Trump International Hotel Waikiki is paradise elevated to Donald Trump’s standards. Palm fronds and bright tropical flowers burst from elaborate lobby arrangements, your first welcome to a tower of condominium-style suites teeming with space and airiness. But there’s no trademark Trump glitz here – instead, muted palettes of warm wood and Italian marble complement Waikiki’s own appeal. Standout views of the city skyline and the Pacific Ocean co-exist, most remarkably from Wai’olu Lounge’s glass lanai.

Reviews for Trump International Hotel Waikiki

Overpriced place, and far from LXR standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This hotel's location on the outskirts of Waikiki makes its positioning somewhat awkward, especially compared to other resorts in the area. Despite its high pricing, the breakfast buffet offers limited variety, with options resembling those found at a Holiday Inn, and priced at over $50 per person. Moreover, the service from hotel staff leaves much to be desired, rude valet, incompetent house keeping, and unprofessional maintenance, lacking the professionalism expected from a high-end hotel, particularly considering its market price, which approaches $600 per night. While the recent acquisition by Hilton adds it as another option in Waikiki, the hotel itself fails to meet the standard expected from an LXR property.

Beautiful resort in Waikiki

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Amazing hotel and resort. Stayed in April 2024. The staff are very friendly, I loved my time poolside, and my suite overlooking the ocean was amazing. Since I was solo on my trip, I did a lot of in-room dining for breakfast and dinner, and had lunch poolside. The food was great, and I especially enjoyed the burgers by the pool, the egg whites for breakfast, and the rib eye steak for dinner. Spent some time on the beach as well and it is great that the resort gives you beach towels and a beach bag for your visit to the beach. If you have an option, select room 2508. The suite was very spacious, ocean view was the best, washer, dryer, kitchen, microwave, etc. and housekeeping staff did a great job during my stay. I wish I could shout out all the staff but the only name I remember is Keanu, who helped me out with recommendations and things to do in Waikiki. But, everyone from housekeeping to the pool staff was great. The hotel was just amazing and memorable I look forward to visiting again really soon.

The Trump Hotel is still the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Is and will ALWAYS be the Trump Hotel! Trump set the standard for luxury and hospitality. We have been to Honolulu at least 30 times and hands-down, this is the most accommodating, comfortable, and luxurious place that you can stay. We’ve even stayed at the Hilton Grand Islander, and it could not compare! The people at Trump are very professional and we have developed relationships with most of them here. We are treated like family with courtesy and respect. I have never encountered this level of hospitality anywhere and we’ve traveled all over the US and Asia. I can contrast with experiences at most of the other hotels (pretty much dominated by Hilton). The Hilton Hawaiian Village treats you like cattle. Even we are Diamond members, they told us,..oh most people that stay here are Diamond members…” That’s a slap in the face to people who invest the ungodly amount of money it takes to become Diamond. I really hate that place, every single time I stay there I wish I came to Trump. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, get ready for a new experience of relaxation and enjoyment.

Exceptional Stay at Ka La’i Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Our visit to Ka La’i Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts was nothing short of spectacular. The standout was certainly the bar, where we enjoyed the best Mai Tais of our trip, thanks to the skilled bartender. We also received outstanding service from Hiroshi, the hotel manager, who adeptly resolved a booking issue with American Express, ensuring we received our hotel credits and upgrading us to a room with a kitchen when we missed out on the complimentary breakfast. The housekeeping, especially Jayleen, was exemplary, providing personalized and attentive service that made our stay extremely comfortable. The front desk staff, Cathy and Alex, along with Eric at the bar and the valet team, all showed exceptional hospitality, contributing to a seamless and memorable experience. I highly recommend Ka La’i Waikiki Beach for anyone seeking top-notch service and amenities in a beautiful Hawaiian setting. The staff here genuinely cares about making each guest’s experience special.

Ka La'i - Top Notch Hotel in Waikiki

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Ka La'i is a top-notch hotel on Oahu. What attracted me to the hotel was the size of the rooms and amenities such as having a full kitchen in the room. We had a high floor two bedroom/two-bathroom room with an ocean view. I traveled with my spouse, son and in laws and the room provided enough privacy so that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other during the trip. The rooms were quiet, well maintained, and the housekeeping staff was top notch (for daily cleaning and turn down). I viewed a lot of places on Oahu before deciding on Ka La'i and we didn't have one issue. I used the gym facilities, and the machines were all in working order and the facility was well taken care of. The pool is on the smaller side, which is typical in the area, but the beach is across the street. The concierge will provide beach amenities when heading to the beach, which was convenient. The valet staff was ample and professional. All in all, when traveling with elderly people, you want to feel like you are in a space where you feel safe, and if something should happen you are well taken care of, and we very much did! Not one complaint from the in laws during our stay - so bravo! The hotel is a short walking distance from a variety of restaurants and shopping. We did not dine at any of the onsite restaurants, so I cannot review those but highly recommend Ka La'i.
