Beautiful room with king bed facing double doors to balcony with great river viewGas fireplace was a treat. Large shower area in spacious bathroom.However bathroom sink was very shallow and hard to contain the water splashing out. Nice closet with drawers for storage.

When: 3-nights (Apr 24th-28th); 2 Adults; Carriage House Suite Location & Property: Very convenient location in Hood River with easy access off and on the 84. Downtown Hood River is just one exit away or about a less than 10 minute drive. The property sits overlooking the Columbia River and some rooms & suites have river views. Parking is limited out front in the courtyard, so guests checking in late or guests returning from dinner will have to park in the overflow gravel lot. Room: The Carriage House Suite on the 2nd floor with stairway access only. The building that these units are located sits closes to 84, so if you are a light sleeper, traffic noise from the 84 could be bothersome. The best way to describe this room is "Vintage Luxury" with a classic pacific northwest decor. By all means, this is not a 5-star property, but some of the 2 & 3 bedroom suites facing the river maybe a little aptly furnished. The Carriage House Suite had a full-kitchen, a living room with an on the wall flat screen tv. The bedroom was very cozy with a queen bed. The bathroom was cozy with a walk-in shower only. For convenience, a washer & drawer was also available for extended stay guests. Service: Front office staff was friendly an efficient. We had a minor issue with housekeeping replacing our towels, but it was remedied immediately with the front office staff when I made an inquiry. All in all it was a good stay at this property. The next time when visiting Hood River, we may inquire in staying in one of the river front facing suites.

A stay at Columbia Cliff Villas is always a good one! I stayed in a unit I’ve stayed previously… many years ago, but I remembered because this is a memorable place!! Everyone is so kind, the places are always so clean, and so well equipped per the unit.

We had considered the Gorge hotel next door, but this place seemed more intimate. It was, and was very special. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and the view was amazing! I listened to other reviews and booked a river view. Got to bird watch from the bedroom and see the beauty while warm and cozy. Fireplace really kept the place warm! Bathroom was much nicer than typical hotels, furnished simple, yet classy. I appreciated the refrigerator in the bathroom, so that one didn't hear its noise from the bedroom. Robes were comfy. Host was helpful- but I gave feedback that was well received, of a little more info up front would be nice. Downside for us was it was cool/cold from the river, so wasn't bold enough to hang in chairs outside enjoying the view. We will come back in the summer. The 4 instead of 5 is our lack of enjoying all of it due to weather (not their fault) and the lack of info. Train noise is there, but easily missed and didn't shake the place. Oh and really appreciated the electronic pre check in. I'd give it a 4.75 if there was such a thing. And very simple to navigate to/from Hood River food if you didn't want to hit the restaurant at the Columbia Gorge Hotel.

A great place to stay. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The property, the people, the view … We really enjoyed our time there, slept extremely well, appreciated the quality of construction, finishing, bathroom features etc. And really liked Hood River.
