Hopkins Bay Resort

We visited as a family of 11 including a teen, 3 elementary age kids and a toddler. We stayed in a villa plus one room and enjoyed breakfast at the resort each day. The resort is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. This was the most hospitable service experience we’ve had. The rooms are in excellent condition with beautiful views of the garden pathways and ocean. Breakfast at the Rhum Shack was always satisfying and even ready as early as 6 am with notice whenever we had to leave early for adventures. We took advantage of the complimentary bicycles and kayaks and loved having access to golf cart rental on-site. We were close to local restaurants and bars and so got to take advantage of neighboring dinner options. We still enjoyed happy hour, karaoke, and the live Garifuna drumming presentation on-site. A few of us got a massage at the spa and it is worth the splurge. We lucked out with sunshine for all but one day of non-stop rain and our villa’s walkway was under ankle-deep water. Nothing dangerous and all services continued without interruption. We were still very comfortable in our house but limited our trips out of the room to avoid walking through big puddles. It was still enjoyable to walk outside in rain or shine. The resort’s beach is raked clean every morning and we loved discovering the crabs, iguanas, moon jellies and beautiful birds around Hopkins Bay Resort. We definitely look forward to coming back.

We stayed at Hopkins Bay Resort for 6 nights on a family trip to celebrate my 65th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. This was my daughter and son-in-law's second visit to this resort, my daughter's third trip to Belize. Our beachfront villa (#19) couldn’t have been better—steps from the water, spacious, and perfect for our family to relax and enjoy time together. We enjoyed talking with Charles in the morning after watching the beautiful sunrises from our porch. We went on 3 beautiful snorkeling adventures. Enjoying snorkeling is what brought us to Hopkins Bay Resort, The food service was beyond what we expected, outstanding throughout our stay. We did pay for the meal plan and would recommend it to anyone staying at Hopkins Bay. We were never hungry, and the food was fresh, delicious, and plentiful! Michelle was especially wonderful, but truly every server we encountered during our stay was amazing—warm, attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond. The cleanliness around the resort was also impressive; housekeeping made sure that every day was a fresh day, Joseph made sure that the pools and grounds were spot on, along with speaking to every guest. What a personable, helpful person! Whatever the need, he found a solution, This trip was incredibly special to us, and Hopkins Bay Resort played a huge part in that. We left with full stomachs, full hearts, big smiles, and beautiful memories. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a laid-back, sun-filled. welcoming and truly exceptional vacation.

I wish I could give this resort 10 stars. Our stay at Hopkins Bay was absolutely breathtaking from start to finish. The resort is stunning — every view looks like a postcard, and the beach is pure serenity. The entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Everyone we met was genuinely kind, friendly, and full of warmth that made our trip unforgettable. A special shout-out to Veronica, Joseph, Chaves, and all the amazing staff who made every moment so special — from an incredible massage experience to the delicious food and a perfect day relaxing by the beach, everything was seamless and full of heart. Hopkins Bay isn’t just a beautiful place — it’s the people who make it magical. We’re leaving with full hearts and memories we’ll treasure forever. ❤️

We stayed at Hopkins Bay during our first trip to Belize celebrating our 25th Anniversary. I can’t say enough good things about this resort. The villas are beautiful and well-appointed. They are all three bedroom, with individual access to the upstairs room if you book a one-bedroom. We had a two-bedroom so we had the whole downstairs which includes a kitchen and living room between the two bedrooms. The resort is well maintained and clean. It’s also closer to town and restaurants/bars than the resorts on the south end, in my opinion. The beach is beautiful and just a few steps from the pool and Rhum Shak. We went at the end of the low season and had no problem finding loungers at the beach and pool. The Staff! They are what made this place so special. From the first day, the staff knew our names and greeted us with a smile. They made sure we had anything we needed or wanted. If you’re going to Belize and unsure of Hopkins, I say GO! And make plans to stay at Hopkins Bay!

The staff was very, very courteous. We would stay again in a heart beat. Sobrena and Zamira were very nice to us. They explained everything we needed to know about the property and the restaurant.
