We came to celebrate our niece’s 16th Birthday! We purchased the endless adventure package and enjoyed MANY great activities! Highlights were: Equestrian Center with a horseback ride and 1-hour carriage ride - Tara, Matt, & Ricky were awesome! Loved talking to each of them! The Shooting Club was AMAZING - Richard was a fabulous teacher. We loved skeet shooting! Archery was tons of fun (even in the rain) - Brian was a hoot! Olivia at Concierge was very helpful! Oscar was exceptional in the dining room! We loved every activity and the ambiance of the hotel!

My husband and I were going on a week-end getaway before he leaves for a military school. I was very disappointed even though several people had told us this was a wonderful resort. I will say that it is a beautiful resort. I had several problems I feel noteworthy for anyone else going there. First, I requested a refrigerator ahead of getting there. We checked in - no refrigerator. Called the front desk, then went to eat, once coming back - no refrigerator. Called front desk again. Now it is getting late and we'd like to settle in for the night. Finally after about a half an hour, we get a refrigerator. Of course now we have to wait on it to get cold. Second, no hot water. The first morning I told my husband to pretend he's clean and take a shower later in the day because there is no hot water. It's luke-warm at best. So he waits till before dinner. Well, guess what, no hot water. We never had a shower the whole time we were there with hot water. Third problem was I expected a 4-5 star resort. This place is noisier than a holiday Inn. Starting at 7 in the morning, the kids and parents start yelling and running down the halls. I informed my husband that if I ever came back to this resort, it would be with a ball team and I would instruct them to be noisy. We just wanted a nice peaceful week-end away and this was miserable. We were going to stay three nights and after two, we really couldn't take it any longer. I didn't complain to the desk at checkout because these issues are ongoing issues which they can't do anything about. I will say though that we ate at the main dining room for dinner one night and it was excellent. Breakfast was also very good. So if you are there for the food, enjoy, otherwise go somewhere else.

Returned here for my third stay at Homestead. The facility was gorgeous, staff personable, and the experience was relaxing as always. The serenity garden recharges you like nothing else- totally recommend it!

An amazing Valentines weekend stay. Elegant hotel, rooms, food, and services. The serenity spa and massage were first class, the romantic setting, the wonderful music in the Main Dining Room was very special.

We have stayed at the Homestead many times. We love the surrounding area and the grandeur of the hotel. The staff are almost always excellent. It has multiple activities available. However, our recent visits, including last week with friends visiting for the first-time left us disappointed in several areas. One of the great features of the hotel is the heated outdoor pool. It is nice to swim outdoors on a cold night and to jump in the hot tub. It is now only open on the weekend at a time of year when many outdoor activities are also not available.......and then only to 7pm rather than the former 9pm. A swim after dinner no longer an option and apparently mid-week guests don't warrant the cost of keeping it open! Why not at least open it for a few hours each day? Hardly four star quality! It also used to be nice to have the ice skating rink next to the pool. The lights and music made it a very attractive feature which pulled guests to that area and encouraged people to "have a go". The rink has now been moved to a rather desolate location adjacent to the ski area. It feels cold and uninviting. The former site is now just an empty kiddie pool. A mistake in my view. Finally, the afternoon tea has been a long tradition which used to offer a variety of drinks and small snacks. It has been significantly downgraded to tea and a small slice of cake. Last weekend was very busy, so my wife and her friends decided to give the crowd 30 - 40 minutes to die down. At 3:40pm they were told that the cake was gone and no more would be coming. A four star hotel that knows it will have a large crowd can't provide a small piece of cake to its guests for one hour? Or quickly find a substitute? It's a small thing, but it is symptomatic of a broader theme of cost cutting. The Homestead is a wonderful hotel with excellent facilities in a beautiful location. In the past it has been an elegant resort where guests paying a high price can relax in comfort. That seems to be changing. The pursuit of revenue results in crowds of unsupervised children racing around the Great Hall and cost cutting efforts are diminishing the very things that brought repeat visitors back. This strategy may bring short term gains, but will turn the core clientèle away.
