We and another couple shared a suite that included two bedrooms separated by a large living area, which included an enclosed patio that was larger than the living area. Both were well appointed and comfortable. We spent most of our time reading and playing cards in the patio area, as the view of the resort and the surrounding terrain was spectacular. We were on the ground floor, which made moving about the hotel easy. We took the two hour hotel tour, which was well worth it (and free). One of our members needed a wheelchair which the concierge readily provided. The service staff was very good about recommending other areas to visit and tour. One trip we took was to the Greenbrier resort, about an hour's drive away. While there, we took the bunker tour; a must if you are in the area. We played minaiture golf on the Homestead's property; was fun. Also used the shooting range, which was very professionally run. As we had a lot of rain during our stay, we didn't use the pool at all, as most of the facility was closed (early May and still in the mid 60's). Ate most of our meals in the Jefferson room. Good menu and great service and food. Ate most breakfasts on our patio via room service. This was still a cheaper option than the breakfast in the main dining area. Overall, a fantastic stay that we all enjoyed immensely!

This is a hidden gem tuck up in the health restoring mountain air. A great place to rewind and drink in the beauty of the location. Only problem was the difficulty following the GPS directions to take 606 instead of continuing on 220. Someone should alert future guests.

the resort was everything we wanted though disappointed with the main dining room. golf, hiking, zip lining were a lot of fun. guides and staff were friendly and helpful. we only had three days and need to return.

5 star place all the way! But it is waaay up in the mountains so it's not the easiest place to get to but well worth the drive! We would highly recommend. Lots of history in the area to learn about and experience!

I was looking for hotels in the mountains and found this. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I like the relaxing in the hammocks and also sitting on the large front porch. I generally prefer smaller hotels, however I did really enjoy this one and given the opportunity I will return. Many of the food and wait staff that I spoke with at the breakfast buffet came over from Europe, college kids I think, and what a great bunch! The food was good and the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. All in all, an enjoyable visit.
