Not typically resort people, but we had a voucher and were excited to give it a try. From the time of arrival to departure we were treated like friends/family. Food and service at Woody's, Audubon Dining Room, Martha's Market, and Jefferson's was fantastic (wish I could remember everyone's name so I could give them all a shout-out, but we interacted with so many :) ) Anthony did a wonderful job sharing the history of the place. So much space that it never felt crowded. Two favorite places were the library and the "front porch" with the rocking chairs and table warmers. Husband had a great day golfing and I enjoyed hiking a trail, reading, and wandering the grounds. Didn't get to enjoy the spa, but it looked lovely from a distance :) Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but there is a grocery store, gas station, etc. nearby if needed. Room was clean and quiet and had everything we needed. Would definitely return!

The highlight of our stay at the Homestead was the Cascades Gorge tour with Brian as our master naturalist tour guide. I learned so much about the local plants, pointing out some rare ones I've never seen before the history of the gorge and Appalachian mountains, and he was just an amazing tour guide making the whole hike fun and informational. If you're looking for an activity to do, this hike was worth every penny! You'll see a ton of birds, flowers, scenery, waterfalls, and hear a ton of fun facts and a sprinkling of dad jokes to keep you laughing and enjoying nature.

Loved our time at The Homestead. It’s been years since we got away from the kids since they are very young, but while grandparents held the for we go get away for a magical getaway and the Homestead made our trip truly memorable.

Very nice place. Pricey! Great golf courses! Food is pricey and general good but not Michelen category. Service is very good. Lots of diverse outdoor activities that you would never do eksewhere like sporting clays shooting, archery, trout fishing or falconry. Lots of other things to do as well! The hot springs are very relaxing and unique and highly recommended! The historic hotel is a must! Anthony was awesome! That man loves his job and his enthusiasm shows! Very thorough, knowledgeable and has some really good stories! The gorge hike was fun with Cooper! Again, very knowledgeable and thorough. Beautiful hike! The Cascades golf course is historic and a must play while you're there if you golf! They had a senior qualifying event there the day we played. Grounds are beautiful as is the hotel itself. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Restaurants are pricey but I didn't find the food to be commensurate with the prices. Service was very good and out waiter Chip was great! Very nice guy, knowledgeable and funny while providing great service! Anthony, Cooper and Chip were stars in their own right and deserve mention here and my appreciation for engaging or stay in their own way!!! Lots of amenities and a beautiful, historic place! I recommend it, just be prepared to pay for it because it's not cheap!

The location is picturesque. The service was stellar in every way. Our favorite dinner was at Audubon. What a stunning room! Lovely piano played, service again superior, food was gorgeous, and so flavorful. The amuse bouche was a delight. The indoor pool is a must and the outdoor pool/hot tub were delightful. Enjoyed the yellow hiking trail.

It's clear why The Homestead has such wonderful reputation and charm. That is evident when you check in at the front desk, where the whole experience starts. We will be back for many visits to come, and appreciate how well the staff is trained to make guests feel so welcome!

My family and I have been visiting The Homestead since about 1977. Our trip this year was without doubt the best. I believe the hotel grounds and facilities are in the best condition I have ever seen. We look forward to returning soon.

This is a great place to go for a weekend getaway. Nestled in the mountains of Virginia, the home of Sam Snead, and they served the best trout in the restaurant.

We won an auction for a trip to The Homestead in Hot Springs to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We are just back from our luxury vacation, and it was fabulous. Everyone at the resort was wonderful.

My wife and I spent three wonderful days at The Homestead in Virginia. We enjoyed a beautiful balcony room overlooking the golf course, gourmet meals, a round of golf and even a horse-drawn carriage ride—with champagne—through beautiful forest. The staff was great from the moment we checked in.
