Historic resort in a beautiful setting. Clear trout streams, swimming, challenging golf course, horse back riding, skeet shooting archery, and even falconry. All of these activities and trained instructors to help you enjoy them. This hotel has been spoiling special guests since George Washington and has continued making families and presidents feel relaxed and pampered ever since. This place symbolizes gracious living . The staff is well trained, courteous and eager to make your stay memorable. There are several restaurants to choose from informal to gourmet. Go and enjoy!

We came to the Homestead for a three-day, two night babymoon trip in late April and were not disappointed, despite rainy weather. It's a charming 3.5 hour drive from DC through rural VA wine country. The hotel shows it's age (slightly crumbly and leaky, with old plumbing and quirky elevator numbering - our 3rd floor room was on "14" and there's no 13th floor) but makes up for it with gracious southern charm and loads of funtivities for every age. I appreciated the pre-natal spa services and extensive gluten free options. Husband enjoyed the shooting and craft cocktails. Breakfast in the main dining room is exceptional, as is dinner and dancing there in the evening. Do the 10 am daily history tour, totally worth the walk and completely indoors. Pick up a s'mores kit from one of the bars and sit out at the fire pit. Cochon d'Or in the village is great French food and literally steps from the resort. The village is not much to look at (don't blink or you'll miss it) and the stores close by 6, if they open at all. But the resort will never leave you bored. We stayed in a king room with a view in the west wing, which was built in the 1920s and retains its early century charm, with a great view of the spa.

If you enjoy history, take the time to take the 10:00 tour with the Omni Homestead historian. He was full of information and presented it in a humorous way. Definitely was a highlight. The Jefferson Pools were well worth the visit even though a bit of rain dripped through the roof. The structure is old but that is its charm and the water is so clear. The staff was very friendly, our room was comfortable, and though we could not really do much outside, well, it gave us the incentive to go back again.

This is an excellent resort. Service was cheerful and prompt. Amazed at attention to detail - like fixing scuff marks on furniture and constant cleaning of public hallways, rooms. Although there is a lot of to (spa, golf, hiking, archery), this resort is best enjoyed by people who like to sit quietly and read a book or place a game - or just talk to people. Very relaxing, laid back atmosphere.
