Excellent experience, multiple pools, hot tub, very well equipped gym with treadmill, ellipticals, free weights, ergonomic machines, dance and yoga studios. Outdoor pool, kids pool play area, though some parents let kids play in hot tube which was a major drawback. Four Tennis courts which were dirt/clay mix with tremendous scenery.

The hotel has a lot of character and charm. It has a real presence as you drive up. We stayed there in mid May. Maybe during the summer it would be better. Options at the hotel were very limited. We went to go to breakfast. I wanted a full breakfast my wife just something light. The only options were a full buffet breakfast or a coffee bar. We came in to eat one night and were tired from traveling around that day. We tried to get something to eat and our only options were in the bar, since we did not have a coat on. I played golf at the cascades course. It rained so hard that water was flowing across the greens but they did not close the course even though I considered it unplayable. My wife wanted to go for a hike while I was out. There were a limited number of hikes from the hotel and the one she wanted to go on, you had to pay someone to be your guide. We had to pay $25 for surface uncovered parking a couple hundred yards away. Not convenient and clearly had no relationship to value.

We did the Cascades Hike this morning with our guide, Brian. The waterfalls are spectacular and the hike is great. There are a few challenging parts of the hike but it is not too bad. Brian is awesome. Very knowledgeable about the environment and life in general, Brian is of Native American heritage and applies this to his view of life. He is very respectful of the environment, of plants and animals and how we all work together to live. He can do bird calls and has great stories about his connection with animals. It is amazing. He is fun, telling jokes and stories constantly, but giving you information along the way that is helpful and useful in everyday life. This is one of the best tours I’ve ever taken and I know that Brian is the reason. I would highly recommend this as a part of your stay at the Homestead

Elegance from an earlier time is clear. Loved the feel through out and enjoyed exploring the entire property. It would be a lovely place for a wedding and could provide many options with the event rooms, which were elegant. A nice experience overall.

We cant wait to go back. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is phenomenal and the service cannot be beat! My husband and I travel a lot, and this was the most relaxing getaway we've experienced in a while. Our first encounter was with one of the bellman, William, who was amazing. While taking our bags to our room, he told us all about the great things to do that weekend, a few tidbits of history, and even called down to the front desk to secure a later check-out the following day. He went above and beyond! Olivia at the spa was also wonderful to work with. She was very accommodating, and her flexibility was greatly appreciated. The spa is wonderful! We also had dinner at Jefferson's and the food was amazing! The best filet I've ever had. The next morning, we went to brunch and the spread of was unbelievable. I would like to also give a huge shoutout to Roderick who offered to make Turkey bacon for my husband. Thank you to the Homestead for a wonderful stay! You have a wonderful team of hospitality professionals.
