Very beautiful setting in an historic relic of days gone by. You can feel the history present in all aspects of this stately old hotel, and clearly the Omni has tried to both preserve the character and traditions of the old style grand hotel as well as update and modernize to accommodate today's vacationer. There are so many lovely nooks and crannies to tuck oneself away to read a book or have an intimate conversation, or just look out the windows and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. You really can imagine yourself in a different era. I've stayed in two different rooms in this hotel, both were adequate. Old style bathroom fixtures but very quaint and in good working order. One room had a closet large enough to put a sofa in, and the other room had the closet in an anteroom. Both beautifully decorated in genteel southern style (pink/yellow/green pastels and plaids), very restful and lovely. The best thing about this place is the breakfast buffet - very pricey but something I will come back for every time I visit. White tablecloth service, top notch food, just out-of-this-world wonderful.

We enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the Homestead Resort. It is a grand hotel and has been well cared for. I loved the landscaping, front porch rocking chairs, and the beautiful setting in the mountains. There are activities to please everyone. However during our short one-night stay we took advantage of the Serenity Spa to get away from the hubbub and enjoy the infinity pool and octagon mineral spa. It offered plenty of indoor spa options as well including a simulated Carribean Storm! We also had an excellent dinner in the Main Dining Room combined with dancing to the live three-piece band. Families with children were welcomed on the dance floor and had a wonderful time too. The breakfast buffet was excellent too with an extensive selection of delectable items. It may not be on the top of your list, but if you have time take the complimentary Homestead history tour. It's full of interesting facts about the property and its guests.

By no means the Homestead of the Old. But a good mixture of the news and old to make it a perfect resort if money is not an issue. If you love golf, this is your place. Or let the kids swim in the pools while you get a massage. Either way, an amazing place.

This resort has definitely fallen from grace. The outside looks fantastic but the inside is considerably run down. I would never recommend this resort to a peer. The room's air conditioning had something wrong with it and was saturating the room carpet- we checked in after midnight due to travel and we didn't have the energy to deal with it then. We put down a towel on it and it was nasty green water it was sopping up. Only part of the trip I have anything positive to say about is the shooting club. We each did 50 sporting clays and our attendant was Jim. He and the rest of the shooting club staff were outstanding. I spent over $400 for two Swedish massages (plus they auto added 18% gratuity) which I thought was one of the least effective massages I've ever had. On top of not feeling like I had a been given the elite service that a $200/person massage should have been, the massage therapist waited outside each room at the end awkwardly like they expected more than the 18% gratuity which was already included. If I could go back in time and not do this service I would. The Jefferson restaurant was great but overall the eating options at the resort were incredibly limited - with minimal options in the surrounding area as well.

The staff and service was wonderful and the grounds of the hotel are really pretty. This rating comes from the fact that the rooms (at least the one I stayed in) were really hot and the window A/C unit did nothing to cool it off, the bed felt as old as the hotel, and the night before we left the sink in the bathroom randomly shot black water out of the drain onto my wife. If none of those things bother you, you will likely really enjoy yourself here.
