This is an excellent resort. Service was cheerful and prompt. Amazed at attention to detail - like fixing scuff marks on furniture and constant cleaning of public hallways, rooms. Although there is a lot of to (spa, golf, hiking, archery), this resort is best enjoyed by people who like to sit quietly and read a book or place a game - or just talk to people. Very relaxing, laid back atmosphere.

From the time we arrived to the time we left, great service, great food and great experience. A definite must for anyone who wants to enjoy the finer things in life. This is the place to go and get away with a loved one.

Friends gave us a night at the Homestead to celebrate our anniversary. Fortunately, they came along to, as they had been there several times before and knew the layout and process, etc. This is no ordinary vacation or business meeting venue. The Homestead prides itself in A+++ service. Pretty no matter when or where, somebody will pass by and ask if they can help, if you look the least bit confused. The rooms are nice, at least insofar as you'd expect in a 100+ year old building. The bathrooms in the rooms we saw were recently and properly remodeled. You check out via the use of the TV remote and TV, etc. If you call for a bellhop to pick up your luggage, he'll almost be there before you put the phone down. Almost. We found the staff to be friendly. We also note from time to time that the staff of most places pretty much treats you best when you treat them best. We treat them the way we'd like to be treated when we're at work, too. An honest smile goes a long way. We dined in three different venues over the single day we were there. Overpriced, of course. But it's a true bucket list destination, and get past the prices before you even book your room. Absorb the majesty and history of the place. There is lots to do. Unfortunately, we were there on a very rainy weekend, and had to do things indoors, but that was fine. By the way, every day, I believe, at 10:00 or so they do a history tour of the place. Some things will amaze you ... like the fact that 23 presidents of the US have visited the Homestead. And there's much, much more. The tour goes on for about 90 minutes, and the guide we had was excellent. I should know. I'm a professional public speaker. So save up your bucks and book a room for a night or two.

Exceeded all of our expectations. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, and many activities to chose if that's your thing. Food and drinks are very good! All of the guides we had on your tours were perfect for there positions. Corey and squirrel were great on the Ridge Runner Zip line tour. Bartenders were also friendly and personable.

Three generation ladies trip in a beautiful and historical venue. We had a wonderful trip including skeet shooting, spa day, and horseback riding. Everything was just lovely and so special. A great trip for a memorable stay.
