Great hotel just had a very bad stay.
I have stayed here several times with 5 star experiences. First stay after the renovation so worried something changed after the renovation or just had an unlucky stay where everything worked against the experience. Pool was closed - no access to lounge chairs. Massive disparity in rooms so make sure you get a room that doesn't end in 16 or 19. The gym is tiny and there is no sign up for the two treadmills which are always busy, don't bother working out in the morning or after work as its jammed. Best to plan on an outside walk or run - park is nearby they might be able to shuttle you over. If you are a leaders member it doesn't matter to them which was disappointing - bad room assignment; no perks. Renovations really put a fresh look on the hotel. For some reason they were doing plumbing work next to my room so had banging all afternoon which made work difficult. Restaurant is great with A+ service and food. Location is great for meetings in the area as everything is easily walkable.

Truly a first rate hotel in the heart of Houston
My wife and I stayed six nights at Hotel Granduca. Its location is excellent; our suite was spacious and well appointed; the staff was friendly and highly accommodating; the meals and service in the restaurant, Remi, were without exception excellent; and the hotel itself is listed on Leading Hotels of the World's directory, which was how we identified it in the first place.

Upscale but not luxury
Fell short of a true luxury hotel / 5 star experience. No bellmen outside upon arrival, no shoe shine. Gym is very small. Lobby renovation is nice, but rooms and bathrooms need a refresh. Staff is friendly, though.

Beautiful hotel
Customer service was top notch - beautiful hotel and excellent food. Ease of exiting and entering hotel. Very clean and beautiful.

Beautiful Leading Hotels of the World Property
We had a really nice stay here during Thanksgiving. This is a very special property with a unique vibe as an independent luxury hotel. We had a romantic stay and highly recommend for couples. Well-located, friendly staff, special details around every corner with beautiful art and festive decor. It is also the only Leading Hotels of the World property in Houston.
