AMAZING!! If you're second guessing where to stay, stop. This is your choice! I took a solo vacation to Houston for my birthday and decided to stay here. I do NOT regret my decision...and it was a tough one. I was given VIP treatment the entire time, even before my arrival the concierge contacted me to plan my time there and even helped make reservations of my choice. The Staff- Where do I even begin? Everyone I encountered from the management, concierge, and housekeeping was warm and delightful. The team took amazing care of me, even addressing me by name the entire time. They communicated with me via text to keep me on target with my itinerary (which they helped create). Being a solo traveler, I felt safe the entire time. It was felt that their entire mission was to ensure I had a memorable stay for my birthday. And their mission was accomplished. I never once felt like a stranger, the team welcomed me with open arms the entire time. ....And the car service was a super nice touch, especially because I took advantage of it on my birthday to transport me to dinner. The Room- My room was very clean (and I'm very particular with this part) as well as the property was overall well kept. I especially appreciated the sweet treats and notes for turndown service. The personal care items were really nice...especially the shower steamers and body scrubbers. My husband had flowers delivered to my room from Sage & Bloom (the onsite floral shop) and the arrangement was beautiful against the backdrop of the floor to ceiling window in my room. Oh the views were amazing!! Tribute Restaurant- I dined at Tribute on Valentine's Day night. What a fantastic choice. I was nervous about dining at a hotel on a night like that, but the food and service did not disappoint. I am still thinking about that meal (lol). They treated me very nicely given I was solo diner on Love day. I felt special from the time I walked in to the time I left. Trellis Spa- I visited the spa on my birthday which was a Sunday. Admittedly, it was a tad too busy for my liking. The locker rooms, indoor jacuzzis, and outdoor jacuzzis, as well as the lounge area were packed!! It didn't appear to be the cleanest and there were hot water issues in the showers. And when it came to my massage, unfortunately, I had a hard time getting comfortable on the table. The massage was just okay, but the 23% service charge is already included so I felt a little slighted there. If you're planning to visit the spa, try any day other than a weekend day. Hopefully you'll have a better experience than I did. The Health Club- I only visited, but didn't get a chance to use the facility. I was given a very nice tour to orient myself. It was HUGE. I wish I could have taken one of the many classes they offered, but didn't (much of which were included with your stay). Make this part of your stay if you can. Overall - My recommendation is the Houstonian. I'd choose it again, and plan to return with my husband next time I visit Houston. It will be a time you won't forget!

The Houstonian and there staff did not dissappoint, and in fact was better than I ever could have expected. The facility is clean and modern, while keeping to its roots. The staff is as highly trained and friendly as I have ever seen.

We booked my daughter’s bridal portraits at The Houstonian and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Janet was exceptionally kind, accommodating, and truly went above and beyond to help us. Even during the busy Christmas season, she worked with us to find an afternoon in December that fit our schedule. The grounds were beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the late-afternoon outdoor lighting filtering through the trees made the portraits even more stunning. The entire staff was courteous and helpful, and Janet even found a private place for my daughter to change for the photos, which we greatly appreciated. The fee was very reasonable and in line with other venues we researched, but what truly set The Houstonian apart was the professionalism and hospitality of the staff. After researching many locations in the Houston area, The Houstonian stood out as the most helpful and courteous. Highly recommend for bridal portraits or special photography sessions. In addition to being a wonderful setting for portraits, The Houstonian is a beautiful and charming hotel for guests. It is uniquely located in Houston yet feels hidden among the trees, offering a peaceful, private atmosphere. The food and drinks are excellent, and the property has an elegant, old country club–style charm that makes it truly special.
