It was my 2nd visits here! This time, the hotel was under renovated. At first, I was worried about the construction noise and privacy but everything was calm and peaceful. I booked a deluxe pool villa. I was lucky that our room was the renovated one. Everything in room is new. I really like the new bathroom. Pool looks very nice and clean. Staffs here are very friendly and polite. There is a complimentary tea time at the restaurant nearby the beach. Quality of food was average. For the breakfast, buffets line did not offer us many choices and the quality of food was just average. Anyway, this place is still amazing and worth paying a visit.

Stayed in a deluxe pool villa....very spacious, love the pool and the privacy. Main pool was very big and quiet which seemed like no-one else at the resort. It's the little things that make resorts like this so great....the quality of service and hospitality ...e.g each time you pass a staff member, they would stop what they were doing and greet you. A special mention to Don the pool attendant whom would ensure your sun lounge was made up and reserved each morning. Quality of breakfast was very good with a large selection of food. They are currently going through renovations but you wouldn't even notice. We got his villa at a promotional price so will be interesting to see prices next year when work has completed and Movenpick has taken over.

Nice location -only 15 minutes from the city centre. Quiet and calm during the day. Breakfasts are very good - big choice of various dishes including Chinese, European and Thai cuisine. The only problem is that there is no actual beach there - you can swim in the sea if the waves are low, but to have a real beach experience you have to go to Takiab beach near Monkey mountain - about 20 minutes ride from Asara. The pool area is great! Now they have a restoration works in some parts - but we didn't even noticed them. Night programmes and dinner options could be more variable. Every once in a while they have a grill party near the beach in the evening - which is nice, but don't forget to use mosquito repellent! SPA treatments are great! Unfortunately there are not much options for small kids - they should have some kids club or playgrounds with swings and toy houses or kid's pool with slides or something like thisā€¦ Hope they will after repair. Big food store - MARCO (Cash and carry type) right across the highway from the hotel. Only there is no way to cross the highway on foot - you have to use a taxi to get thereā€¦Overall experience is really good - our room was cleaned twice a day - the private pool near villa is cleaned daily. Caring personnel is very friendly and responsive.

We had a 1 bedroom pool villa which was very nice, comfortable and large. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful with large lagoons and plenty of trees. The pool was large and even though the hotel seemed to be nearly full, the pool was never very busy. The sea was quite rough while we were staying, so we didn't get to see what little beach there might have been. This is a shame, as when you go to Thailand you do expect to see a nice beach to go on! They do have a shuttle to go down to the main town, which is about 5 to 10 minutes drive from the hotel, but the 1 night we tried to book it, it was already full and this was the middle of the afternoon.....so if you want to get on the shuttle book it up early. The breakfast was very good and quite varied, although at times they didn't seem to have enough staff to service the number of people staying. We had been warned before going that there would be some renovation work going on, however if there was I didn't see any of it and it didn't interfere at all in our enjoyment of our holiday.
