Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel

Kimpton Shorebreak Resort has quickly become the exception in our usual loyalty to Marriott properties enough that we’re now seriously considering IHG as our first choice for future stays. This hotel consistently delivers the kind of thoughtful, hands-on hospitality that’s hard to find, especially in a busy beach city. The location is ideal: right across from the Huntington Beach Pier, a short 25-minute walk or quick 5-minute drive to the dog beach, and surrounded by everything you might need like CVS, restaurants, bars, and plenty of spots to wander. Pacific Hideaway offers a great brunch, and the resort-fee perks (bike rentals, beach chairs and towels, s’mores nights, wine hour) add a lot of value. We also loved the complimentary morning coffee and the seasonal cocoa bar, which felt surprisingly charming. One of the biggest reasons we return is how authentically dog-friendly this property is. Our corgi is part of our family, and Shorebreak truly treats her that way. There is no additional and exuberant pet fees, they provide bowls, allow pups to stay in the room when you go out and about (we always bring a crate), and Pacific Hideaway can even prepare a meal for your dog. Kyle A. was incredibly attentive and made breakfast easy and enjoyable for all of us. This stay was part of our joint 40th birthday celebration, and I have to highlight Jessica at the front desk. After a less-than-ideal late check-in on a previous visit two months ago, I messaged ahead. Jessica handled everything with clarity and confidence, confirmed our room was ready, and took it upon herself to upgrade us and leave a thoughtful welcome setup with a handwritten note. It wasn’t overdone just sincere, well-executed hospitality from someone who clearly cares about the guest experience. Her attention to detail set the tone for the entire stay. The text line team was just as efficient. Macie ensured we had dog bowls and the pet door sign ready in our room, and Axel reassured us our midnight arrival would be smooth. A couple of notes: you may still hear some noise from PCH or nearby nightlife if you’re sensitive to sound, and our top-floor room had occasional HVAC noise. The outlet placement could be more intuitive, but nothing impacted the overall comfort. In short, Kimpton Shorebreak has that rare mix of location, personality, and genuinely attentive service especially toward guests with pets. Thanks to experiences like this and standout staff like Jessica. For Huntington Beach, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Just wanted to share a quick note that the Shorebreak Hotel really rolls out the red carpet with their level of service and hospitality. From the clean, spacious rooms and welcoming, social lobby to the excellent front desk staff, gracious hosts, and hotel staff who do double duty during the beverage-poured social hour, the service is top-notch. Additionally, the friendly valet staff, cool bartenders, restaurant crew, and an executive team that's always on call contribute to a flawless experience. With its close proximity to the bars, restaurants, beach, and pier, the Shorebreak is the premier destination for people traveling or for locals entertaining in Huntington Beach.

Out first stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach was nothing short of absolutely amazing. The staff is superb in every aspect, and it is clear that the Hotel Manager, Jackie, runs a very tight ship. Within a few minutes of checking in, we received a text asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. I assumed it was a robotext generated by some far off computer somewhere so I jokingly replied that everything was fine but we were disappointed that there were no Alani's in the room fridge. My girlfriend likes Alani's and is very discerning when it comes to these drinks. I was expecting, at best, some quirky robo-response and was prepared to enjoy the moment of just playing with the automated system. Or so I thought,,, What happened next was nothing short of service above and beyond... Within an hour, the Hotel Manager HERSELF (Jackie) texted me and asked if it was OK if she brought something to our room. I of course said ok, and sure enough she knocked on our door in a few minutes with a case of Alani's. Now, THAT's taking customer service to a whole new height. Jackie, you made not only our night but our entire stay truly amazing. This story is just one example of how attentive and friendly the entire staff was during our stay. And because of this, my girlfriend and I decided we will be regulars from now on. We LOVE this hotel.

My spouse and I stayed this past weekend for a local wedding I was officiating, and were so pleased with the friendliness, professionalism, and efficiency of the resort staff. From the easy check-in process to the helpful restaurant servers to the always-smiling valet staff (we had to retrieve our car several times for various parts of the wedding schedule!), we felt welcomed, appreciated, and well-cared-for! This place is so amazing. It’s super personalized down to earth has a family vibe. You can bring your dog if you like so many fun little things about it. They have a free coffee in the morning. They have wine hour, which is super cute delicious restaurant and just an all-around great five
