On an Island in the Adriatic Sea, amidst medieval towns and ancient cobbled streets, find a resort that looks as if its stepped directly out of the pages of a modern architectural digest. Overlooking the cerulean blue sea, with fantastic terraced gardens and a cascading waterfall filled pool, Amfora, Hvar Grand Beach Resort is the new jewel of Croatia's ancient resort Island of Hvar. Enjoy sun and surf from the private beach, rejuvenating body treatments at the Sesori O center and Secori C Spa at the iconic 1930s Bonj Les Bains beach club, and dine under billowing white tents on a teak deck as the sunsets. Romantic, luxurious, and chic beyond all reason, Amfora makes it is easy to see why Condé Nast Traveler rated Hvar as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.

Came for the day round the pool. Ate at Cascades. Food was good, came quick and service very friendly. Would say the food is slightly over priced but to be expected in Hvar!

I had a reservation for July to enjoy my first post-pandemic vacation. Unfortunately, there was a major flood of humanitarian tragedy proportions that devastated several cities. We have no airport for the next 3 months and the roads have been destroyed. We informed the hotel of the situation and asked for a refund of what had been paid. Unfortunately, the hotel did not understand the seriousness of the situation and denied the refund. Of all the hotels on this trip, this was the only one that had this positioning. Other hotels on the trip understood that it was an emergency cancellation and were compassionate about the situation.

I previously stayed at the Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort a few years ago and was very satisfied with the service, which led me to choose this hotel again for a holiday this year with my wife. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been quite disappointing. When booking, there was no option available for free cancellation without a substantial fee of approximately €659 in case of a cancellation. Living in Porto Alegre, the capital of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, which recently faced a calamity causing extensive flooding, including the complete inundation of our airport with no foreseeable reopening, I reached out to the hotel. I explained that the majority of the state's road and highway infrastructure, which provides access to most cities, had been destroyed, making it extremely difficult to even enter or leave the state. Given this humanitarian crisis affecting my ability to travel, I requested that the hotel might consider waiving the cancellation fee. Despite understanding my situation, the hotel stated they could not make an exception. This decision has left me deeply disappointed. Although the hotel offers good service and attentive hospitality, their lack of compassion in a situation akin to a natural disaster, with significant human and infrastructural impact, is regrettable. This experience has made me reconsider whether I would choose this hotel again in the future.

Excellent location however the hotel needs a refurbishment, furniture on the balcony needs repair, shower flood’s bathroom and faulty safe on arrival. One other point was no complimentary tea/ coffee in the room. Pool Area is very nice and good service from the staff at the poolside restaurant, Avan looked after us with food and drink throughout the day, The service was really good, nice friendly staff
