About the Hotel

On an Island in the Adriatic Sea, amidst medieval towns and ancient cobbled streets, find a resort that looks as if its stepped directly out of the pages of a modern architectural digest. Overlooking the cerulean blue sea, with fantastic terraced gardens and a cascading waterfall filled pool, Amfora, Hvar Grand Beach Resort is the new jewel of Croatia's ancient resort Island of Hvar. Enjoy sun and surf from the private beach, rejuvenating body treatments at the Sesori O center and Secori C Spa at the iconic 1930s Bonj Les Bains beach club, and dine under billowing white tents on a teak deck as the sunsets. Romantic, luxurious, and chic beyond all reason, Amfora makes it is easy to see why Condé Nast Traveler rated Hvar as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.

Holiday 2024

Excellent location however the hotel needs a refurbishment, furniture on the balcony needs repair, shower flood’s bathroom and faulty safe on arrival. One other point was no complimentary tea/ coffee in the room. Pool Area is very nice and good service from the staff at the poolside restaurant, Avan looked after us with food and drink throughout the day, The service was really good, nice friendly staff

Nice hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The rooms were very nice and the hotel has great views on the water and has a nice walk to the port. Nice lobby and reception where guests can hang around for a drink or eat infront of the bar. Breakfast was good but the pastries , pancakes and fruit could have been fresher.

Couldn’t fault it

Absolutely beautiful hotel and surroundings. Short walk from the port. Food was great, albeit a little bit pricey. Hotel rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were great, very attentive. Perfect location for a quiet, relaxing break. We would definitely return!

Not value for money

As a hotel for couples I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The price did not reflect the room for a Junior Suite, balcony, sea view. This a massive hotel with too many stairs, small lifts, and a hike to the pool area. The maintenance of this hotel is lacking with stains on furniture in our room (reported but nothing done-we didn’t sit on the lounge!), also on the carpet, wardrobe doors need adjusting. On the plus side the bathroom was a good size, though the shower barely fitted me in and I’m a small person! Great view! The walk into the town was 10 minutes which wasn’t as issue, however, would be for some. Breakfast was busy with lots of children being in high season. The food and variety was very good. In conclusion the hotel did not deliver the hotel expectations for the dollars we paid. Interestingly, the same company owns seven main hotels in Hvar

Could Have Been A Lot Better

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

This sprawling hotel has lovely grounds and a great pool (though unheated and a bit chilly in late September). The hotel itself is a bit worn especially in the hallways - dirty carpet, walls with big dings, etc. Our room was about a 10 minute walk from the lobby and another 5-10 minutes from the pool. It was in the back building. Beware when picking a room the layout of this massive hotel matters and their room descriptions are confusing. If I knew better I would have made sure that I had a sea view on the front of the building not one with a side view out to the sea. Not sure it was worth the extra $50/night for that view. The room itself was OK but again it needs some updating like the entire hotel. The buffet breakfast was expansive and included just about everything you could want. That and the pool area were the highlights of this stay though one member of the wait staff at the pool was lacking in skills. I had to hunt her down to pay my tab when she totally disappeared for over 30 minutes. The walk to and from town was nice. The luggage pick-up service from the ferry dock was helpful though the drop off was not as smooth given the bags barely showed up in time for us to board the ferry. Some pluses and minuses equals a so-so stay.
