The best hotel in Foz de Iguaçu, even if expensive. The view over the falls, as well as the easy access, is worth the investment. The staff is very well trained, we were pampered and spoilt! Breakfast is excellent, with everything you can think of. Nice pool, spa, gym.

We stayed at the Belmond Hotel which overlooks Iguazu falls for two nights May 19, 20. Stay was very good overall. Some parts were outstanding, some were very good and a few were "ok". First, the outstanding. Service is excellent. Brazilians are a friendly lot generally but the service people at this hotel are just great. Always willing to do a little bit more, service oriented and super friendly. This was the case for front desk staff, housekeeping staff and restaurant staff. One particular example was a fellow named "Christian" who was the Sous Chef in the main restaurant. Went out of his way to ensure we could find vegetarian food. A very decent human being. Parts that were very good. Common facilities are clean, well organized and what you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. They do the little things that make life a bit easier (like having umbrellas everywhere so you can travel between buildings without getting wet). Menus are deep, broad and what you'd expect in a 5 star place that is a bit remote. The proximity to the falls is of course the key thing. It's literally across the road from one of the main viewpoints to the Argentine falls. And about a 15 minute walk to the Devil's throat section which is the highlight of the falls. Can't beat it for location. The ok part for which there is room for improvement. We stayed in a superior room with a queen bed and it was quite small. Difficult to hang around the room for any length of time. I felt the hotel was a bit to penny pinching in certain areas. For example, they could probably afford to give all guests free low cost rain coats given how much everyone is paying. Also, I think they could consider offering a free hourly bus shuttle to and from the airport given their location. Overall recommendation. Stay here but try to get in during off-season. I paid about USD 280 per night which was ok for a small room but if I had paid peak rate (about 500), I think I would have felt a bit out of sorts. But the even bigger recommendation is that you MUST see Iguazu falls. It's a wonder of the world. Believe me, you will never see a waterfall like this one. Makes Niagara look puny and even Victoria falls isn't so picturesque. And the water flow is just stunning and overwhelming.

I have just spent three wonderful nights here The staff are amazing, beginning with reception. The location is incredible one minute to the Iguassu Falls, the best of all is after 5pm all day tourists are gone and you have the trails etc to yourself. I was lucky enough to take a helicopter ride over the falls, most incredible views. One of the most lovely hotels I have stayed in

If you are in Iguassu Falls, the is the most ideal place to stay. not only because it's top notch hotel, but it's right in front of the fall. Even after the park is closed, you can still enjoy the trail see the fall for sunrise and sunset. Great location. The service is also very good.

We only stopped here for one night when we visited the falls. Stunning hotel. Luxurious surroundings and amazing location. We visited the falls later on in the day as it was quieter and the park had closed and again the next morning. The room was spacious. Bathroom was stunning and the pool and pool bar were just what we needed. We were even given complimentary Havianas. Yes it's an expensive place to stay compared to others but it is worth every penny
