Seeing the falls in near solitude is magical, but we offer more than just a great location. Step through our doors into a world of understated luxury. Soak up the jungle chorus while you float in the pool, stroll gardens bejewelled with orchids and sip caipirinhas as the sun goes down. Hotel Cataratas has an exceptional location inside Iguaçu National Park, with exclusive access to the waterfalls. This privilege made the experience truly unique and unforgettable, especially being able to visit the Cataratas early in the morning and after the park closes to the public. However, one significant downside is the hotel’s smoking policy. Smoking is allowed and even encouraged in all outdoor areas, including the pool area. Additionally, vaping is permitted everywhere, even inside restaurants during meals. This greatly affected the overall comfort of the stay, particularly for non-smokers, and feels inconsistent with the hotel’s luxury positioning and with expectations of a healthy environment. Despite the incredible location and historical charm, stricter smoking regulations would greatly improve the guest experience.

Waitress services beyond expectations. Very clean. Location top 10, to be in the Parc at the falls before and after rush hour is the best way of doing it!

Access to the falls to see the sun rise and fall was a truly amazing experience. Everything at this hotel was perfect, and felt like a home from home. They even serve the perfect cup a tea with milk, which is exceptional for South America. Even during the visit of the Presidents of Brazil, Argentina etc the hotel ran like clockwork, with staff ensuring us guests had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Showing great management and staff commitment to service. A prefect stay in a perfect location

There is no doubt this is an expensive hotel but in defence of that ... the views are stunning, the staff excellent and the overall experience is first rate! A mention to our guide Francisco, he picked us up from and took us back to the airport, also took us on the hike in Argentina, using him (or a guide) is recommended as he he made that trip smooth, he knows the best trails, sorted our Eco-train tickets out and takes a mean photograph!! The guided walk in the morning on the Brazil side is also a must All in all faultless!!

If you can stay here do it! You won’t regret it. Because the hotel is in the park access to viewing the falls is only limited by daylight. The hotel is luxurious, service is impeccable, food is outstanding.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
