Surrounded by lush rainforest, this pastel-pink hideaway grants exclusive access to the park—minus the crowds. Seeing the falls in near solitude is magical, but we offer more than just a great location. Step through our doors into a world of understated luxury. Soak up the jungle chorus while you float in the pool, stroll gardens bejewelled with orchids and sip caipirinhas as the sun goes down. Embark on the ultimate adventure at South America's first and only Forbes Five Star hotel, and you’ll never want to leave.

This hotel belongs to a high‑end chain, and a few of their properties are truly spectacular (think Copacabana in Rio). Unfortunately, the Iguazú branch turned out to be a major let‑down. The rooms feel cramped, and the staff barely speak English—especially at the restaurant and bar. It’s billed as a five‑star resort, but given the experience and the price tag, it barely earns four stars. Only the pool, the main entrance, the gardens and the location are worth mentioning; everything else feels rather ordinary and doesn’t justify the cost. Accessibility is also tricky, since the hotel sits inside a national park, so you need to plan extra logistics for arrival and departure. In addition only few rooms provide a view on the falls and the view remains limited ..

We stayed at this hotel 30 years ago, and our memories were a mix of unforgettable views of the falls and a sense that the property felt old and somewhat dated. Because of that, we were initially hesitant to book again. However, after reading recent reviews, we decided to take a chance — and we’re so glad we did. What we encountered blew us away. The hotel has been beautifully upgraded and now feels absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail throughout the property — especially in the rooms — is exceptional. Our room had the same iconic view of the falls we remembered, and more. The service was flawless from start to finish. From the moment our car door was opened, to Sanel, who warmly checked us in, every interaction was a 10/10. A special mention to Pirozzi, the outstanding concierge, who seamlessly organized a helicopter tour, spa services, and even bikes for us to explore the national park. The buffet lunch was one of the best we’ve ever experienced, and the highlights kept coming — including a magical nighttime walk to the falls to see the lunar rainbows. The poolside experience was serene and perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. We only stayed two nights but wished we had stayed longer — and we’re already planning our return. This hotel has truly recaptured the magic we remembered, and then exceeded

It's hard to review a hotel, considerably overpriced, that delivers in many aspects, yet overall my one night experience was marred by service lapses spanning 2 days. Service is the key disappointment. When Belmond manages a property, one expects, and reasonably demands a standard of excellence. Where's the failures: poolside towels stained. Poolside drink service poor. One day, I begged to pay for an iced tea. I waited for about 30 minutes, went to lunch at the adjacent outdoor terrace, and requested the pool tab to be added to my lunch bill. I was eventually comped with an apology. The next day, something similar. I asked for a second tea. I waited an hour, and left, advising the Front Desk. Jugs with water poolside are left emptied. No plastic cups are at the station. Ordering lunch at Ipe took so long (over 40 minutes) I had to chow down a sandwich to catch the boatride safari. At breakfast there were waiters standing around . If you wanted coffee? It was a supreme act to find a waiter, let alone to receive a fresh cup. In advising the Front Desk, I was promised, without requesting, the General Manager would assuredly listen to my input before my departure. Instead, a waiter at dinner was placed in the most awkward position of apologizing for deficiencies he had no knowledge of. What's the takeaway? A hotel with an overabundance of staff, poorly managed. The food at Ipe was good. The furnishings in the room are well maintained. The headline grabber: the hotel offers special consideration in visiting and walking the paths to the Falls, during hours the park is closed to visitors. This is an extraordinary plus. Worth the excessive room rates? A qualified, yes, to experience Iguazsu Falls. It's a remarkable experience.

Moon and double sun rainbow, excellent food and cocktails. Unique. Costly but a very special experience, as are the cataratas of Iguazu. No time lost in tickets, parking. No need to support crowded spaces. Exquisite experience of one of the seven wonders of the world

The Hotel das Cataratas was the perfect choice of accommodation for our visit to Iguazú Falls. With its elegant, even palatial rooms and facilities, the Hotel is also perfectly located inside Brazil’s Iguaçu National Park. Steps away from the front door is the head of the trail that affords visitors multiple viewpoints along the Brazilian side of the Falls, leading to the great gorge at trail’s end. And the hotel served as a great jumping off point for us to explore the Argentinian side of the Falls as well. The resort also has an amazing restaurant, where we enjoyed world class breakfast and dinner. This is THE place to stay when visiting Iguazú Falls.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
