What a hotel! The location, the service, the food, drinks, the setting, there is nothing to be improved upon! We absolutely loved our stay here and thankfully due to an air strike had an extra night and I’m so glad we did! The rooms are spacious with everything you need and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast has a vast offering and free flowing champagne and make your own Bloody Mary’s which went down very well for my friend’s birthday! Our tours were arranged through Latin Routes so can’t comment on the hotel arranging those but would recommend a tour of the Argentina side. In our experience though, the walk from the hotel down to the falls (which is free!) was the highlight. You really get to appreciate how vast the falls are and walk at the very bottom of them before getting a lift back up. The park was very quiet at this time and provided a very memorable experience. The staff went above and beyond and made this a very memorable stay! Thank you!

Nice but not standard as advertised

Nice hotel however be aware that you won’t have entire park to yourself before or after hours. Tourist buses arrive pre dawn and leave after 6pm. Rooms did not get serviced until after 5pm and request for assitance with bags for departure were ignored/not enacted. Yes first world problems I know and we did enjoy our stay. We felt we could have similar experience for a quarter of the price and hotels just outside park gate which were well serviced and similar facilities.

Wonderful experience.

My wife and I stayed at the Belmond in 2022 and was so impressive by the experience that we decided to bring my mother and our children to share the experience. Iguazú Falls was magnificent and the fact that hotel guests have exclusive access to the falls outside of park visiting hours means we were able to see the sunrise without the crowds. In fact, my family took the short 15 minute walk from the hotel to the main viewing platform and were mostly by ourselves both times we were there. Surrounded by roaring waterfalls with the skies dotted with birds and a magnificent full rainbow (!), we literally had one of the most beautiful and magnificant wonders of nature to ourselves. The experience was surreal and simply amazing and worth flying half-way across the globe from the U.S. for just in itself. We also visited the bird sanctuary located near the park entrance which was a wonderful experience. The hotel is comparable, if not superior to, staying at the Ritz Carlton. We were greeted by name upon arrival. We were then given a tour of the hotel and of our rooms by the staff and I’d have to say that the attention to detail is outstanding. Our suite was beautifully designed and decorated with a wonderful view of the hotel’s front lawn and the waterfalls from our balcony. Everything was immaculately clean and room service twice a day made sure it stayed that way. The room was well-appointed and upscale. The plants and orchids were real and fresh. The refrigerator was stocked with complimentary beverages. There was a Nespresso machine with a full selection of pods. I truly appreciated the attention to detail which made our experience that much more special. We signed up for an all-day excursion to see the Argentina side of the falls and the tour guide was friendly, very experienced, and knowledgeable. We did prefer the Brazilian side because of the panoramic views if afforded and the fact that it involved much less walking and was so accessible from the hotel. The buffet and formal dining at the hotel were both wonderful. We had a ten-course chef’s sampling dinner which included imaginative presentations of Brazilian cuisine. The food was simply delicious. We played pickleball on their tennis court and spent time in the pool. We had a massage as well. The atmosphere at the Belmont was wonderfully relaxing. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommended!

The service was impeccable, and the room very comfortable. Nothing lacking - Highly recommend this hotel. Also, having the waterfalls to ourselves after park hours was extraordinary experience.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
