Tommy Bahama Miramonte Indian Wells is a boutique hotel in the heart of luxury resorts. The hotel had limited guests, which was surprising as I was staying there only because the resort across the street was already sold out. I was there for business in support of a charity that honors veterans, specifically Medal of Honor recipients. Check in (4pm) was standard, the front desk pushed hard for me to attend the tennis tournament they were sponsoring, no offers of discounted tickets. Room was upstairs with no elevator. Front desk did not advise this, but I assume they offer bell service if needed/request. Interior of room was subpar; I’ve stayed in budget hotels that are nicer. Small closet with 4 hangers. Tiny bathroom with pedestal sink, no room for a toiletry kit as it is already covered in gaudy glassware holding one cotton ball and 2 Q-Tip’s. Shower is the new style where all the water goes through the crack and onto the floor creating a slippery exit. All corners of the shower have orange mold indicating these are not cleaned well or often. Toilet paper is located on the opposite wall of toilet; you will need long arms to reach. Bedroom contained a bed (not a heavenly bed by any means), dresser and table with 2 chairs. The room has never been updated so the phone cord crosses the length of the room to the table. My view was of a wall and pool equipment. They provide a fridge and coffee machine but no throwaway cups, just porcelain cups, who knows when or how those cups are cleaned per guest. Parking is free but first come, first serve near your building. They encourage you to pick fruit from their trees and take home, nice gesture but more of a task for me. Upon check out it required two trips down the stairs with my golf clubs and luggage. I forgot my shoe bag containing dress shoes and golf shoes. I contacted the hotel within 2 hours of my departure to let them know I had forgotten a personal item and could they check the room for me. I was met with a curt answer from the front desk that they cannot do anything to assist until I went to a website (website states it could take up to 2 weeks to find missing items and they note many items are never recovered) and provided a hotel verification code and filled out a lengthy form. When I asked for them to repeat the website and code again as I was not prepared to take this down it was repeated and “micro machines” speed with them promptly hanging up. My colleague had not checked out yet and I asked if they could go to the front desk and assist in helping me retrieve my item. I armed them with a copy of my completed lostitem website form along with my room number and description of what was in the bag. After waiting 30 minutes the front desk informed them that the room had already been cleaned and they assured him no items had been found. My colleague provided his phone to the front desk, different employee than the one from previous. They ensured me no item was found and maybe I had grabbed it and had my missing shoes! The following day I received a spam email from hotel already encouraging me to return immediately followed by an email from the lostitem website confirming my item was not recovered but not to despair as they reminded me it can take up to two weeks to recover lost items. I am bummed from this unfortunate event as I’ve enjoyed the philosophy, clothing and restaurants behind the Tommy Bahama corporation. I guess at $500 a night they still can’t pay their employees enough to not steal from the clientele. Shoes can be replaced but not my support of Tommy Bahama.

What a great vacation. Beautiful resort with nice clean rooms. The pools were nice and when I could get him out he also loved the bocce ball and corn hole. The restaurant “Grapefruit Basil” was delicious. Josie waited on us twice and was a great server. Elijiah made sure to make my wife’s night on her birthday. Derick and Eric were great as well. Everyone made us feel very welcome. We will be back soon!

We attended a fund raising dinner on a rainy evening. NO VALET. And quite a long walk to the parking area. The service and food were very sub par. By the time the servers got to our table a lot of tables were already finished and we were handed leather like cold chicken and unappetizing dried mashed potatoes. We told server we had ordered fish and were told they "ran out"! Incredible and Inedible. A wilted salad was at the table when we arrived. We did not stay at the hotel overnight and based on the service and food would not recommend when there are so many better choices in the area.

Always the perfect getaway from the busy city life. My husband and I love the comfy rooms, amenities like WR and pool, and the spaaaa is wonderful. Our favorite food is breakfast at Grapefruit Basil, and dinner at Tommy Bahama at El Paseo.

This was not my first stop at the Tommy Bahama Miramonte. I go to the desert often for business and this is my new spot to stay. Every member of the staff is happy, smiling, helpful. The guest rooms are well thought out and make you smile. The grounds are beautiful with lots of fire pits and places to grab a few minutes to veg out or read a book. Leslie at Grapefruit Basil (the breakfast restaurant) remembered that I had a cappuccino the day prior... remembered that I liked guacamole with my eggs on the avocado toast and asked if I wanted avocado on my side egg as well the next day. Everyone you come into contact with seems happy to be there and is super helpful. It makes a huge difference and makes it a pleasure all around to stay at this resort.

Maybe the best spa resort in the Palm Springs area if not in the U.S. Beautiful rooms and excellent food all in a very intimate setting.
