Villa Montana Beach Resort

My husband and I stayed at the property and were very pleased. The property was quaint and lovely. Actually, quiet which you don't find in PR very often. The restaurant has excellent food and perfect for quickly stepping from the beach to the bar for a drink. We chose the smallest room, but it was too small for us, so next time we will get a larger room. But everything was clean. Property was very well maintained. Can't wait to visit again!

We had high expectations for Villa Montaña given the location and the price point, but unfortunately, the room was the biggest disappointment of our stay. The accommodations felt outdated and lacked the charm, comfort, and inviting tropical atmosphere we were expecting. The bed appeared very old, with a visibly yellowed foam gel layer that suggested it was well past the point of replacement. The polyester bedsheets also felt out of place for a resort at this level, and the overall décor was minimal and did not capture the authentic, relaxed Puerto Rican vacation vibe we were hoping for. Considering the cost of the stay, the room quality did not meet expectations and felt overpriced for what was provided. The amenities were acceptable, but some areas could use attention. The sun loungers showed significant sun damage and would benefit from reupholstering or replacement. The beach setting is beautiful, but the water conditions make swimming there feel unsafe at times, so we chose to visit a nearby beach instead. Another area that could be improved is the guest service experience. When calling for assistance, we often reached customer service representatives located outside Puerto Rico. While the service was polite, it lacked the warmth, local connection, and personal touch that you would expect from a destination that prides itself on Puerto Rican hospitality. The highlight of Villa Montaña was without question the onsite restaurant. The food, drinks, presentation, and service were outstanding. It is on the pricier side, but the quality absolutely justifies the cost. The restaurant delivered the level of experience we expected from the resort overall. In summary, Villa Montaña has a beautiful setting and an exceptional restaurant, but the rooms and some resort details need significant improvement to justify the rates being charged.

Despite the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay. The pools clearly needed better maintenance, as they were filled with insects and leaves. When we asked for beach chairs and umbrellas, none were available, which was frustrating considering the type of experience the hotel is supposed to provide. Additionally, the Wi-Fi in my villa did not work. Overall, I believe the hotel is overpriced for the level of service and amenities provided. For the price, I expected much better maintenance, availability of basic beach amenities, and reliable Wi-Fi.

We’ve been here many times - it’s our getaway to be with each other (I travel for work and only come home to PR every few months). This stay was especially good. Check-in was a breeze: professional and helpful. The room (5143, book it if you can - garden view villa) was flawless as always, with two private balconies, and a full ready-to-use kitchen. And the food and service at Eclipse was flawless. Special shout out to María who was our dinner server. She is somewhat new but gave us the best service we’ve had there in years. We’d go back just to catch up with her. Same goes for the breakfast attendant, whom we’ve been lucky to be taken care of various times (the name escapes me). This is a wonderful place. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are beautiful, the pool is heated and gorgeous, sunset by the beach at Eclipse is breathtaking, the birds and horses roaming around the resort are a treat - this place is perfect. Stay here if you can, don’t go anywhere else. Thank you to the staff. We look forward to coming back. Daniel & Caroline

This resort was an exceptional location to enjoy my honeymoon! The front desk had reached out prior to us even coming, giving us details and allowing us to ask any questions to which they were very prompt to answer! They were able to help sort out minor adjustment regarding rooms for us as well. The villa we were in was a prime location right by the pool and walking distance to the beach. The Villa was bright and airy with a comfortable entrance to the patio where we could enjoy an early morning watching the birds. Crews were always trimming and Keeping the resort looking pristine and clean. Inside the villa was plenty enough space for the two of us with enough outlets and anything else that is needed! Housekeeping was prompt and did very well to ensure we had a clean villa whenever we requested. The gym at the resort had everything for a good enough workout. The pool area was nice and private, with comfortable loungers around the pool which was very clean and perfect water temperature. The beach is a bit rough to go swim in but not to worry, there are multiple beaches that can be visited within 10 minutes of the resort which makes an exciting adventure to go out and explore a little. Though the waters are rough at the beachside, it makes a great spot to just relax in one of the loungers and enjoy the sound of crashing waves taking away any stress that one may have. The Eclipse Restaurant that is at the resort has been phenomenal with every dish being prepared to perfection! The prices are reasonable considering the quality and craftsmanship of the food prepared along with the Oceanside views while eating. Also, if you’re lucky enough, you may be able to spot the iguana that is around the resort as well! Looking forward to staying here again in the future!!
