Traveling to Puerto Rico on business, I had an excellent stay at Villa Montana. Although the room was a bit small and antiquated, it was adequate. What I enjoyed most was the peacefulness of the resort, the proximity of such a beautiful beach, and an awesome restaurant called Eclipse that was right on the beach and not only was the food great three, the ambience of eating right on the beach was even better. The only issue was the intermittent internet in my room, which was due to the continuing recovery issues from Hurricane Maria on the island. This caused me to do my work by the pool at the Eclipse, which always had good internet! Very helpful and friendly staff. The next time I go to Puerto Rico I plan to stay at the Villa Montana--but next time I will reserve a room right on the beach.

I loved this place and so did my family. Great staff. Attentive and friendly. Beautiful grounds. I saw many landscapers working hard to keep the grounds beautiful. Restaurant staff was attentive. The pools were clean as was our two bedroom villa. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed for 3 nights and rented 2 Villas. The location is beautiful as it’s right on the beach. The front desk staff let the whole place down. They messed up our reservation, they didn’t care or show any effort to resolve the situation. Our smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night, we told front desk the next morning who said they would have it fixed. The next night, it went off again at 3am. We had to track down a maintenance person ourselves to get it fixed. Overall for the price you pay you should get much better service.

The five stars is for the overall experience of staying here. We were here for five days in late-January, and the resort has power and is fully-functional (including both pools, which were recently re-opened). The rooms are clean and comfortable, though not luxurious. (We were in a 1 BR ground floor villa.) But the property is gorgeous - thanks to lots of hard post-hurricane work by the owners and staff - and the beach is pristine and very private. (Yes, all beaches in PR are technically public, but there is no public access near this property, so there is a long, beautiful stretch here free of crowds, vendors, etc.) There are some surrounding areas with the power still out, but that really didn't detract from our visit, and most area restaurants - including the excellent Eclipse restaurant in the resort - are open. Not surprisingly, given all the negative press regarding PR since the hurricane, there were not a lot of tourists while we were there. Hopefully this will change soon. And in deciding where to vacation, please keep in mind that this is part of the United States, and these are badly-needed American jobs you are helping to preserve by staying here.
