This was a great place to spend our vacation in Puerto Rico. The waves were huge. The room was very nice and the restaurant is outstanding. Highly recommend.

What a lovely resort!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a 2 bedroom villa and it was spacious and beautifully decorated. I believe they are all different, but we were pleased that ours had laundry machines and a huge balcony. (Note-there were some no-see-ums out there in the evening so bring bug spray). This serene resort was just what we needed after staying at a large resort in Fajardo that was way too crowded and understaffed. Very quiet for sleeping and individual thermostats in each room. We enjoyed our walks on the beach, but at least when we went in February the water was too rough for swimming. We drove to Crash Boat beach and also Playa Pocita Montones (great for snorkeling), which were both good for kids. My 8-yr-old daughter enjoyed the deep 9ft pool at the resort (also had a shallow area for younger kids). One thing to note is if there is a wedding going on I would go off property for dinner. We decided to order food (restaurant was not open to public) but it came super late and my daughter was hungry and just wanted to go to bed. That was the only hiccup in our entire stay though. Would not hesitate to come here again! The staff seems to truly care that you have a great experience.

Rocky entrance into the water from the beach. Property was beautifully maintained. Staff was friendly. The kitchen and bathroom needed to be updated. The mattress needed replacing. The front desk staff weren't able to address issues but had to wait for a supervisor to arrive. I would not stay here again.

Like any vacation choice, the best result is getting what you expected when you were planning for it, and a little more. This is a very low key and quiet “resort” that sits on an incredibly beautiful and deserted stretch of beach on the Western edge of the North Atlantic Coast of Puerto Rico. We flew into San Juan (there is a closer airport to this side of the Island with limited commercial flights) and rented a car; it was about a 2 hour drive out to the location; easy drive and Waze took care of the directions flawlessly. We had reserved a 1BR Villa, which is a lock off unit as part of a larger townhouse style unit. The villa had a small kitchenette. The rooms are showing their age; the bathroom is quite dated, and the cabinetry in the unit is nearing the end of its useful life. The bed was very comfortable, and the couch appears to be newer and was also very comfortable. There was a small patio outside of the unit with a couple of chairs and an umbrella which didn’t have a view. The villa was a quick walk (60 seconds) to the ocean and the restaurant/pool area. The restaurant is superb with great service and great food to match. Drinks were terrific. Don’t miss the French toast. We ate all three meals there, and the cost was reasonable, especially in comparison to the rest of the Island. The beach fronts the rocky and rough Atlantic Ocean; not a place to swim unless you are a strong swimmer and know how to manage rip currents. It was lots of fun watching kite surfers out doing their thing. The beach front has day beds and chairs/umbrellas. The resort was quiet and we never had a problem getting either. I probably would not bring kids to this resort given the nature of the ocean here. There’s a small, quiet pool next to the restaurant which was kept very clean. The highlight here is beach walks, for more than a mile in either direction there is gorgeous, deserted beach, really, some of the nicest I’ve seen in the Caribbean, and I’ve been pretty much to every Island. If you want to go for an Ocean Swim, drive over to Crash Boat Beach, about 20 minutes away—very smooth water, food trucks, beach bars, JetSkis, etc., and a lot of fun. We wanted to relax and do nothing for four days and sit by a beautiful beach; Villa Montana delivered in spades, and that’s why it gets five stars. The resort is apparently for sale (some of the buildings are privately owned) so it will be interesting to see what a new owner does. For now, it’s a quiet jewel in an otherworldly setting…..

Awesome place. The 2 bedroom villa was enormous and very clean and comfortable for my family. The beach was spectacular and the food at the eclipse (where we ate EVERY NIGHT) was consistently excellent. This place is peaceful and a secret spot for active families who enjoy pools without speakers playing unwanted music and beach chairs reserved at daybreak by frantic sunworshipers. Well done!!
