Lovely setting just on edge of Lacco Ameno. Very useful shuttle bus to both LA and to Forio. The waiters were up and ready for breakfast, on hand at lunch and still going strong in the evening....and always chirpy and full of smiles.... We (2 adults, 2 children - 9 and 5) spent 14 nights at the hotel, had a family suite, accomodation good. Earthquake on first, no comment or reassurance from the hotel. Food in the evening was expensive, on a set menu basis with no al a carte and was disappinting quality. The service was patchy bordering on the rude sometimes. Pool area was really nice. Having to get a shuttle bus to the local Town Lacco Ameno was disappointing as not really within walking distance as we were led to believe. Beach is about a half a mile away, uphill on the way back. Very crowded and expensive for a bed and umbrella (€17). Restaurants in Lacco Ameno were surprisingly disappointing, very grabby and quiet (earthquake?). On balance, the whole experience was not as good as expected based on reviews and expectations.

We spent an exceptional 7 nights here for the perfect relaxing break. Hotel site is large so plenty of space so you're not on top of each other. Rooms are very nice, clean and to a high standard. Breakfast was fantastic, help yourself to plates of good food or ask for eggs to be prepared. All evening meals were fabulous, you get a chefs starter, then get to chose from 3 primo options, then 3 secondo options, then from a fab dessert trolley if you still have room. The local wine wasn't expensive and was very good. If you want a perfect relaxing holiday, this is a great choice.

It was well worth the journey from the mainland to stay at this beautiful place. We had a stunning sea view from our spacious balcony. Cannot single out any member of staff to praise as every one of them was helpful, friendly, courteous and appeared as happy to be working there as we were to be staying as guests. Looked after our every need and we hope to return as soon as possible!

We booked the Gardens and Villa resort for a week in August and had a nice stay. The transfer from Naples airport was fairly smooth and took round trip just over 2 hours, this is something to bear in mind. It costs 57 per person per way but we let the hotel arrange it, this does add €228 to your trip, we also had a problem with the luggage being damaged which is being looked into. Check in was smooth and Christian was great, an asset to the hotel, we were kindly offered an upgrade to a junior suite which we accepted J so room 194 was ours for the week we were there. Christian kindly gave us a tour around on the buggy so we could get our bearings. Room 194 was nice but for €400plus a night we have stayed in better even with the upgrade. Breakfast was super every morning such wonderful choice and all the restaurant staff were excellent, Francesco was great and special thanks also goes to Mario who was always smiling. We had dinner twice and the quality of the dinner was great and good value @ €30 a head. Lunch was wonderful and the pasta dishes really great. We had drinks in the Cave Bar most nights before heading out and Lorenzo is great such a nice bloke. The transport offered to the town and beach is free and at good times, you can walk into town to eat etc but the road is fairly risky and the driving in Ischia is a little scary. The resort is set in a lovely relaxing setting but it did get very noisy at times around the pool, there are signs up stating a quiet zone but at times at was far from quiet, bat and ball games and swimming races were a daily thing in the pool. We were also surprised at how many children were at the resort, don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with children but the ones staying while we were there made a lot of noise, my view is the resort is not really suitable for a family holiday, I may be wrong but that’s my view and at times it was very hard to relax. All in all we had a nice time but for the pricing we paid and the above reasons we have scored this 3 out of 5.
