It's not often that we find that we agree with reviews written on Tripadvisor as one person's idea of a holiday is not the same as the next person but in the case, we wholeheartedly agree with all the rave reviews. The setting, staff, food and atmosphere are all perfect as everybody has already said so we won't repeat. We stayed in Room 187 which is a superior room located nice and close (but not too close) to the pool, restaurant and bar. The room was huge and had a bath in the bathroom which isn't always the case in hotels. It had tons of wardrobe space. The bed was huge and very comfortable....we had the best nights' sleeps we've had in ages helped by the fact that the air conditioning was efficient and quiet. Some nice thoughtful touches which puts the hotel above others are the complimentary flip flops, mini bar (soft drinks and water) restocked daily and fresh pool/beach towels every day; hors d'houvres in the bar. The pool area was so lovely and relaxing with plenty of parasols and sun loungers so there was no need for that ridiculous pursuit of getting up early to bag a sunbed. The water was heated to a perfect temperature and was very clean. Lunch and dinner menu were delicious every single day/evening. The pizzas were the best we've ever had and the choice of 5 courses of an evening was always impressive....we didn't have one bad meal. Breakfast was a banquet too with everything you would hope for except perhaps for bacon. We used the local bus service, which was incredibly cheap and efficient, from the bus stop just 20 metres from the hotel, to visit Castello Aragonese, Forio, Ischia Porto, Giardini de Mortdella. Our favourite day of the holiday was the one we spent at the thermal park, Negombo (see separate review). It was simply wonderful and not to be missed. We did a couple of "off island" trips. One we did for ourselves by catching the hydro foil from Ischia Porto to Naples (80 euros for 2 return) and then the Metro and overground train to Herculaneum for 2 euros each. Herculaneum was 10 euro each entrance fee. It's a long journey door to door (about 2 hours 45 mins) but worth the trip. The train journey was a bit confusing as 5 minutes before the train was due to arrive, they changed the ultimate destination but it was fine. It was then about a 15 minute walk to the ruins where we spent about 2 hours....you could spend way longer if you're that way inclined. The train we were due to get to return to Naples was cancelled without explanation (well to was a Sunday maybe?) but a friendly local walked us to the bus station where we got a bus back to Naples. We then spent a few hours walking round Naples which we didn't much enjoy as it was dirty and too busy, and we felt unsafe, before catching the hydrofoil back to Ischia...it felt so welcoming to go back to that paradise island after bustling Naples. We also did an organised boat trip to Positano and Amalfi which the hotel put us onto. It was 42 euros each. Although we enjoyed seeing the towns (Amalfi was our favourite) it was a long day and had we been made aware that the boat called in to drop off people at Capri which added to the length of time we were at sea, we might not have gone. It meant we only had 2 hours in each town and so were confined to the area around the ports which felt like tourist traps....it would have been nice to have had the time to explore beyond that area. We stayed 10 days which we felt gave us ample time to relax and explore in the right measure.

We have been holidaying here for about 4 years now, just can't praise it enough. Everyone there works so hard to give you a perfect rest, the grounds and facilities are amazing and the food second to none. We can't wait to return

We returned just over a year since our last visit and this time we upgraded to a deluxe room which was definitely a good move. We had beautiful views of the sea and down into Lacco Ameno. The room was light, spacious and the balcony was great for an early morning or late afternoon read. Almost all the staff were the same as last year which says a lot about how happy they are to work here. The food was still brilliant and we found ourselves eating lunch here most days. This year we experienced the outside evening meal around the pool which made a nice change. Francesco still runs a tight ship in the restaurant but is lovely with it. There are so many staff to mention and no one is better than another, they all seem to want to make your stay enjoyable, across the board from restaurant staff, garden staff, room ladies, bar staff and reception - they take pride in offering their services. This really is a delightful place and we also made it to Mortello Gardens this year - twice! they are beautiful and if you have time to go to one of the outdoor concerts - its worth it! The only thing that let this years holiday down was other English guests to be honest. Not all, but some felt it necessary to 'reserve' their sun beds (even though there are plenty to go around), or leave towels on them most of the day without going near them. Others felt music was missing so bought their own - without headphones and others had their personal conversations at high volume so that the whole poolside heard their business. It was noticeably different when the English arrived - earlier in our stay and all of our holiday last year it was mostly Italians, Russians and Germans and they behaved impeccably, they were friendly, and considerate. Other than that it was a fabulous holiday and special thanks to Tatiana in reception who helped us with a medical issue that needed hospital attention - she wasted no time in ensuring we go the treatment we needed (which was nothing at all to do with our stay at the resort). We hope to return again because we find it just so relaxing and the journey time from London to Ischia is only about half a day, yet it feels as though you could be on a Caribbean isle!

I will not repeat what has already been said about this hotel as agree with most reviews that this hotel is amazing. We had a deluxe room, which was secluded, had a lovely terrace area and was well equipped. Every day fridge stocked with complementary water and lemon soda. The food, although was a little basic at times, was always freshly cooked and delicious. Special mention to our wonderful waiter, Mario, who was endlessly smiling and helpful. Friday nights in the bar were great, with a good vocalist/keyboard performer who could play anything. Guest spot by Lorenzo the bar manager as well! Our only mistake was a day trip to Capri - too hot, too crowded.

On arrival, a peaceful haven, the gardens are amazing, room, restaurant, bar were high spec, waiters, maids and gardeners all really helpful and always smiling.food was top quality. Half day tour of the island was really interesting, we met a lovely family who went to a thermal park which they highly recommend and the Mortella gardens was a lovely visit. The beach is a short walk away, golf buggy on site for guests to request a lift if required. Free transfer bus on site. A great leather shop in Laco Ameno the owner a great character. Saint Angelo and Castello Angelo both worth a visit. Ischia wine is lovely and of course the Aperol Spritz!!! Cash not accepted on site, you sign for everything so advisable to keep note, my only advice to the hotel would be to have your bill accessible on your TV in your room. Great holiday, will return for sure.
