I have travelled the world and stayed in multiple hotels but this one is my favourite. It is not the most luxurious but still excellent but for all round ambiance, location, food, service and value it cannot be beaten. This is the third time we have been here. The staff are fantastic and friendly. Coming back is like coming home. In fact I have already booked to return in September. That is a recommendation in itself. Don't take my word for it see for yourselves you will not be disappointed

This hotel has all of the big pieces of the perfect holiday puzzle: endless sea/harbour views - check; beach view - check; numerous pools for different activities - check; top class service - check; excellent quality food - check; shuttle service to the local town - check. In terms of the big picture, it's got everything. I booked this hotel heavily based upon its recent inclusion into the Small Luxury Hotels of the world listing. However, I would comment that the finer details aren't quite up to scratch with other properties of that class. The rooms are pretty and very authentically decorated - but a bit of upkeep is needed. In our bathroom there were a few cracked tiles, cheap and nasty plastic bins and little plastic trolley, the worktop around the sink was cracked and in need of replacing. Nothing at all that would ruin a holiday, but just not quite what you'd expect from a SLH place. Similarly the pool areas need some work - the stairs to the changing area have mouldy carpet on them, some of the paintwork is peeling away, and some of the parasols have certainly seen better days. Again, no showstoppers, but the finishing touches do let it down. We couldn't fault the food, service (Marco in the restaurant was fantastic), views (incredible) and range of facilities. I'd highly recommend drinks on the terrace before dinner - at this time of year (early May) the sunset takes place just before dinner service, so you get the most incredible experience before you head down to the restaurant. We would return.

We travel a fair bit as we love our trips away and this hotel in Ischia is the only place we have returned to for a second time. The San Montano Resort and Spa hotel location and situ is just out of this world, the views are breathtaking and the sunsets heart melting. The free shuttle takes you to the SAN montano beach or to the town a few mins away. This is a truly special place, if you are seeking some healing hot waters, packed with minerals for aches and pains or to rid those everyday work and life stresses, a quiet relaxing, friendly atmosphere and wonderful food (great choices at dinner) then this is the place to go - we will return again next year for sure.

It's the most relaxing place I've ever been. I was coming there with my family once a year, but now I feel a need to come there more often. It's the best place to charge your batteries. The location of the hotel is marvelous - up on the hill, you see the whole peninsula from everywhere of the hotel premises - from the swimming pools turkish hammam, jacuzzi, bar.... thermal waters will relax you, you can use some of the wonderful hotel's treatments - there are so many in the offers. Breakfast in the hotel is something that you are waiting for. The food is super quality and the view......breath taking. And the staff ...... could not be better. You get a service like in 6* hotel. The only thing you can do in this hotel is simply enjoy and relax feeling better then at home.

My wife and I visited Ischia. We had a great time. Many Italians, Germans, and Russians. Few Americans. The hotel staff is very friendly and provides great service. Really recommend the buffet on Thursday. It's like being able to sample dozens of dishes at once. As a tourist its a nice touch. The pools were lovely. When you book your room you need to check if it will have AC or not. Our garden room was very small and had no air flow unless you opened the balcony window/door. While this might work for some, it now means that others can see into your room and/or more easily hear you too. Would recommend looking at a more expensive room or at a minimum waiting for AC to be turned on in main area; central AC only. Breakfast was really good. Great service and relaxing way to start the day. Would love to come back! Highly recommend it. It's great down time!
