I'm actually reviewing this Hotel from the hotel, I agree with all the other reviews about the wonderful sunset views and lovely pools but not sure if this hotel is five star standard as I've stayed in a lot of luxury hotels around Europe, Dubai and Vegas. Firstly the rooms need updating as I don't understand why there is a key to the room and not a card also there are no docks to charge phones or iPads, which in my view is important in a five star hotel. Also the showers need updating not enough room to shower as I've seen better larger showers in 4 star Airport hotels. The pool staff, bar staff are nice and very helpful and nothing is too much for them but I can't say the same about reception staff. I booked a restaurant at reception in Lacco Ameno and was told to come back to reception when we were ready to leave as the hotel shuttle would take us there and back as it is a complimentary thing the hotel do. Though when I went back to confirm the shuttle the hotel reception lady her name was Cristina ordered a Taxi for us which I didn't understand why? So I went back to ask her and she said we'd ordered a taxi which we DID NOT!!! Anyway not just that she was very rude to us and said oh look what's happened the taxi man is here now in a very angry manor. I'm sorry but this kind of behaviour is not acceptable as my husband then told her if there's a problem we'll take the taxi. We can pay for a taxi as it's not a big deal but why would u say a shuttle would take us. It's just ridiculous!!! Ok! Maybe there was a miscommunication as the staff don't understand English very well but she didn't have to behave in an angry manner towards us as we are guests at this hotel, I've never in my life encountered such bad behaviour from staff at any hotel I've stayed in. It's very disappointing and has put me off coming back to this hotel and recommending to friends and family.

We can’t be more pleased with the overall experience. Not only a wonderful property with incomparable views of the island but also a very friendly and professional service from all employees. The experience didn’t just start upon the arrival but prior to our stay. Once we have decided to visit San Montano, the hotel took the initiative to manage our travel plans and to ensure a smooth travel from the United States. Upon the arrival, the staff knew exactly how to please us with recommendations of the must-dos and must-sees. During the stay, when we ever find ourselves needing anything, they did their absolute best to accommodate us. While the hotel was almost at its full-capacity, each employee treated us as very important individuals. Also, it was very impressive that top managers took their time to personally greet us, including the GM. Highlights: • Breakfast: It was incredible! I can’t stress it enough. Everything was very tasty and fresh. I believe they grew vegetables on the property! Please check it out! F&B staff was very attentive and polite. • Views: We visited all six pools and it’s very difficult to say which one did we like the most. We highly recommend you to please visit all of them! • Housekeeping: We LOVED our housekeepers. The housekeeper manager was the best! They were very sweet and treated us as if we were in their luxury homes! • Front desk, F&B, Pool staff: These employees were incredible. While giving us an absolute privacy, they were paying a great attention to us and always make sure that we are enjoying ourselves. My mom and I are certain that San Montano is flawless in every aspect. We will definitely return with our friends and family. It’s certainly one of the best experiences.

We stayed here on Honeymoon for 5 nights. Ischia amazing, hotel amazing, people friendly everywhere and never felt safer anywhere. Hotel has lots of thermal pools and we spent everyday in the waters. The views from the hotel are beyond imagining. Don't want to rave too much because we want the place all to ourselves!

San Montana was beautiful. It had the most spectacular views looking over the island of Ischia. The pools were amazing too and great for relaxing. If you want to leave the resort they have a shuttle free of charge which takes you to the beach or down into Fungo. Now the not so good points... we arrived on the Monday to be informed we had been upgraded for free (great we thought), to find out they mixed us up with someone else. Your passports are kept at reception on show so anyone can easily get them. They should be in a secure place. Also, as a basic necessity you would think you would get a bottle of water or two a day in your room. Unfortunately not. Instead you had to pay for this. Also, the menus were heavily overpriced. €10 for a small glass of fresh lemonade... really? Is this a healing drink of something?? The rest of the menu was similarly priced which means staying here gets very pricey so beware. The food itself is good although again very over priced! In addition, rooms were very small with little privacy. It was nice to come here but For the reasons above I doubt we will be coming again. For a 5 star hotel and the amount we paid we expected more.

Absolutely beautiful location and a lovely hotel. The staff are very attentive, and able to answer every need and question. If you're looking for an action packed holiday, this is not the place, instead you can make use of the spa, pools, and relaxing atmosphere. The shuttle service to the beach or town is incredibly helpful and prompt and we never waited more than 10minutes. Breakfast was great, with lots of choice and gluten free options. Dinner is disappointing and not worth the money - I would definitely recommend booking bed and breakfast and using the shuttle service to have dinner in the town, where there is plenty to choose from and a far better price!
